Ridiculous.

I don't think the players need any more signals/warnings from Poch on what's acceptable or not.

Everything has been loud and clear.

All this does is weaken the fabric of trust he has painstakingly woven.

There should be an inner sanctum. Inviolable.

As a manager you don't give out internal shit like this, voluntarily.

It's a bad, bad look. Totally unprofessional and - as has already been mentioned in another thread - carries a strong smell of egotism.

You love you Poch, but you're not Ferguson...yet.

Run shit, win shit and then recline on your achievements in retirement and write your autobiography filled with man-management master-strokes and hairdryer anecdotes, THEN.

This has pissed me right off.

I expect to hear this shit in coded snippets from itks who have snatched a glimpse, NOT by the fucking manager.

I don't want our club's business out there for the press to fang-feast on and I'm sure the players don't either.

You can't rage at Rose and be airing dirty laundry to the world at the same time.

If Levy ok'd this, he's an idiot. If he didn't he needs to have a strong word with Poch about PR.

Don't want to be reading our business in the fucking papers like this - whether from book excerpts or whatever.

A concerning trend developing with Poch - after we get an important result in a game something to sully it soon follows.

For someone who wants to emulate Ferguson, this is more the way of Redknapp.

Cut it out.

I was actually unsure how I felt about this until I read your post. I think this is far worse than Rose’s outburst, which was linked to a lack of signings, which we were also bemoaning. But when the manager sets a precedent like this, publicly airing the internal works of an organisation, which has become famous for running a quiet effficient machine, who knows what shit may follow...

I really don't understand what Poch expects to achieve with this. There's only downside.

Disappointed and perplexed in equal measure.

Love Poch and seriously hoping this doesn't start to destabilise the group.

FFS, just when everything was looking absolutely fantastic for us, and this bombshell comes out of nowhere.

Maybe, think it will be interesting now when big Vic is fit. I mean he clearly says there that he doesn't see him as a CM, and with Sanchez settling quickly what happens to Dier?

Perhaps, Similar to Walker, Dier has made it clear he doesn't see his long term future with us.
Agreed to stay this season whilst Sanchez beds in etc

I think Dier will be away in the summer.

Everyone needs to calm down. This book was sanctioned by the club and all the players and Levy knew about it.

From the book's own introduction:
Guillem Balagué was granted unprecedented access to Pochettino and his backroom staff for the duration of the 2016-17 season, and he has therefore been able to draw on extensive interview material with Pochettino, his family, his closest assistants, players such as Dele Alli and Harry Kane, and even a very rare conversation with Daniel Levy to tell the manager's story in his own words.

These are just passages from the book which Ballague is releasing, without knowing what the whole books says it's hard to condemn them. Guilleme has signed off these to be released because they'll generate more interest than 'Lloris is not just my captain but my friend, we regularly enjoy merlot and discuss life together'.

Everything he's saying is only confirming what the agents of the players in question have been shovelling to the media anyway, I don't see the big problem.

Can't stop now, the book is coming out on 26 Oct.

If this is the reason we break up as a team it will be very disappointing. This bloke is that Spanish guy who always has inside info and airs it within hours on live TV - but still continues to be fed with information. Why would Poch go to him? Kyle Walker will be disappointed.

If this all comes with the caveat - "based on inside sources, this is my book", then it will probably be ok. But if it comes with Poch's blessing, and ever worse Dan Levy's blessing, then it will be asking for trouble in the camp.

I was really impressed with the way that Kyle Walker handled his exit. Kept schtum in the media and did things properly. We got a great price. All done and dusted. No need to serialise it in a book from the inner sanctum. Poch has broken a golden rule here. More worried about the Dier thing as he's a current player. If I was Kane or Eriksen (or any other player) I would now not trust Pochettino in private conversations. This is a big red flag. Worst development for a very long time. :(

It's as if some people think this was all done behind all the players backs. Seriously doubt this is the case.

Think a lot of fans getting unnecessaryly worked up over this, making a mountain out of a molehill.

Disagree. Our entire success is built on trust and common goals. Poch has implemented so many great things, right down to everyone shaking hands with everyone else every day, from dinner lady to chairman, and the group is very tight and close. Players talk about Poch as if he is a surrogate father. Serialising private conversations from his book in the Daily Mail is a major risk to that ethos and group stability. Only time will tell.

Do you honestly think Levy and Poch are stupid people? Stupid enough to publish a book without the players giving consent for pieces about them to be published? This would have all been read, amended, reworded many times before being given the ok by the club to publish.

Think Toby will sign a new deal shortly personally.

I'm not sure then what will become of Dier once Vic is fit again. Perhaps he will request a move. Time will tell i suppose.

Really happy with the Toby new btw.

Or maybe we have a nice deep squad with different options and possibilities? Isn't that what everyone was screaming for all summer?

It may be the wrong timing (or not) but we know that Poch is not the typical football mgr/coach.
A lot of people questioned his choice of Llorente in the starting 11 against RM but Poch had the last laugh.

Let’s see how the next few games peter out first before we throw our toys out of the pram.

There are (I’m sure) reasons for this disclosure so I’m not too fussed. We’re already throwing above our weight since Poch arrived so I’d give the man some slack.

It’s not a press release. They’ll have had very little, if any, editorial control
