Have you never seen a player come back from illness/injury start on the bench before? It's not exactly revolutionary.
But it's illness, he's only been out for a week, it's not like Rose who's been out for months. He's still fit.

I pray Trippier isn't playing LWB, especially with Davies and Rose on the bench.

He offers nothing out there.

Worried about how wrong this could go-really baffling-will be in awe if it comes off and would take a draw now

I thought there was much unhappiness with Dier when he's playing. Now he's not playing, there was still much unhappiness...

Yes because when you are getting over flu (or whatever it was) you instantly become 100% fit.

Do you ever NOT worry?

I haven't worried for weeks, let's not be hyperbolic. I have been extremely positive, even when we played Madrid I said I thought we would win the game, I have not said anything negative in recent weeks, when I witnessed the lineup against Madrid it concerned me but we played really well.

It's ok to have concerns, this whole mentality of "everything is fine all the time" is just an unrealistic outlook.

I am concerned because we have had reports on Dier and now suddenly he is on the bench because he had an illness, do you not find that suspicious? Not even in the slightest?

I mean sure, there could be nothing to it but it just seems like too much of a coincidence to me, also, that lineup is concerning, it could be a masterstroke or it could end terribly.

Also, when you have been a spurs fan your entire life it isn't easy to let go of worry when it comes to this club.

Yeah it fucking sucks. Even then you can still feel lethargic for weeks after you're 'better.' Or at least I did.

Winds me up when people say they missed work for a day (always a friday) because they had the flu. OH REALLY?!

Anyway, COYFS!!

If Davies has been ill for a week how can he be fit enough for the bench and not fit enough to start? Also why have two left backs on the bench anyway? Would have had Davies and KWP myself.

Bound to be Aurier on Salah. Reduce their pacey option, who creates the space for their other attackers, and you go a long way to nullifying their threat.
