Pochettino making Lovren look like a good defender at Southampton is one of the greatest coaching achievements in the history of sports.

He was a good defender, one of the best in the league during that period IMO. The problem for Lovren is that Rodgers and Klopp can't coach defenders and would rather 'defend from the front'.

Vorm
Davies
Dier
Carter-Vickers
Rose
Wanyama
Dembele
Lamela
Nkoudou
Sissoko
Llorente

Really not a bad a team of players who aren't starting today ! Depth is getting really good.

Such a deserved third. Ideally, they chase, we get another and then we are into spanking territory, fingers crossed.
Spot on.
Mabye add one world class player to this group like if we’d got an Isco etc then we’d really be up there. Squad is great but difference now between us and city is we have Kane in top bracket and a few others close but they have KDB,Aguero both in my opinion world class. We have Eriksen, Toby and LLoris just behind that top bracket, they have Sane,Jesus,Silva so just slightly better than us. We add one world class player to this and we are there.

In his current state I don't think rose could keep up with Salah at all. Looks like he needs another month of high intensity.

West ham midweek hopefully gets a full 90

Then surely a waste of a place on the bench, no?

What a nice change from the scoreless bore at Anfield last weekend.

At least the Pool fans can't complain that they're not being entertained today.

Best game I’ve seen all year.. Liverpool going forward are different gravy.. Thier defence howeve is shocking

Indeed. Klopp a little stubborn like Wenger?

The balance of that Liverpool side is terrible, but with time and a little space going forward they're very good.

Overall as a team though, we're quite a bit ahead of them.

Shout out to Winks who has kept things simple and quietly done his job. He might not get as many tackles in as the likes of Dier but he's very good at getting interceptions and slowing down the play when needed.

Kane TOTALLY schooled lovren on then second goal too. Drew him in thinking the ball is reachable but by the time he gets there kane has turned n gone:LOL::hilarious:

On a serious not though. I will start to get a tad edgy as the the game goes on in the cm area. If winjaldum comes on then id equal it with sissoko
Winjaldum isn't on their bench.

Another sign today of how poch is maturing as a coach: conceding possession but pressing hard when they enter our box and breaking at lightning speed. I'm loving these changes in tactics compared to season's past.

I was just about to post about Dele having his first great game of the season. I think he is looking much more effective playing further back and running from deep rather than playing as his usual 10 picking it up with his back to the goal.

Spot on - I also think Son is better in the role playing closer to Kane - he's quick and Kane seems to know where he is most of the time.
Rumour is MoPo thinks Dele's best position would be to mould him into a more traditional number 8 akin to Lampard/Gerrard - makes sense to me.
