I alway thought once we get to grips with playing at Wembley and that pitch size week in out , it would actually enhance our game mentality...the early indication of this was when we played Madrid our players now are used to playing in big stadiums and we didn't freeze in front of the headlights.

Made me laugh when DT had a little tantrum about Kronke not investing his own money into Arsenal. Why the fuck should he? Arsenal have massive income sources of their own. It’s only really the financially doped clubs that see massive investment from their owners.

Tom Carrol needed more games at Spurs I think, he was coming through at the wrong time. Lots of turmoil at the club and pressure to perform. The club is much more settled now, and there is a much more stable base upon which to Blood youngsters into the team.

He’s doing a cracking job at Swansea, I think a lot of people seem to believe that if you don’t make it at Spurs as a youngster, it automatically means your not very good. But there’s plenty of players that have proved that wrong. Look at Peter Crouch, played for a few good clubs and even became an England regular after he didn’t make it here (at a time when we were bloody awful I might add)

I can actually see Tom Carrol kicking on with his career.
Didn't we let Souness leave when very young, he had a decent career

“They just showed the stats on Skysports and we had more than them in every department but it means fuck all when you give them 4 goals yes FOUR fucking goals. The Spurs fanfare will go on but did they have to even play out of their skin to beat us? Fucks sake”

Fucking good job we didn’t play out of our skins then eh

I actually thought the SKY pundits were very generous in their praise of us today, particularly Henry and Souness, the word brilliant was exercised frequently.

Can someone send me a link to the full game? I took a hit for the team when I switched the game off after they scored (yes I really am that superstitious), which seemed to work as we scored 2 more and they didn't.

I REALLY want to watch this game now.

It's facinating how all they talk about is lack of transfers and january can't come quick enough. They gonna be very dissapointed if they pin their hopes on a huge transfer spree in january :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Love this from Bluemoon re: Liverpool:

"Some notes on today.

1. Liverpool were the better the side until Mane was sent off. Spurs were hanging on. So the result does not count.
2. It's not Liverpool's fault
3. All Spurs goals were mistakes by Liverpool players so they do not count. In fact Liverpool won 1-0
4. Pochettino has been in the job a year longer than Klopp, so the result does not count
5. Spurs have a billionaire owner so they are ruining football and cheating.
6. Liverpool have the worst injury crisis in living memory.
7. Its not their fault.
8. Anyone who criticises Klopp is a bedwetter.
9. Coutinho is unsettled by Barca and it is not fair
10. Err. That's it."

“They were aggressive and first to everything in that first 20mins, the incisiveness after winning the ball back was brilliant. It was like watching us play when we were good last season. Just utterly ruthless.

I’m sat there wondering where the fuck our pressing game has gone this last 6 months. Today they toyed with us to be fair. They’re a fair better unit than we are. At times we were probably better than them last season, but they’re a far more consistent team and have been for years. It’s why they routinely finish above us these days”

Nice to see someone up there just plain admitting it. Apologies for the cut and paste but I’m computer illiterate.

Some prime cuts from arse mania:

Sp**s defencecrap

very suspect once you beat their press. Plus they're playing a huge number of games on a gigantic pitch at Wembley + CL football and Cup games. They'll drop off physically after February. We'll just have to keep pace with them till then. Our relatively easier fixture list from March onwards would give us a great shot of moving past them.

Fatigue is our only hope of catching them. Currently, they look like the only side equipped to keep pace with City.

Another example which we touched on a while ago was Sanchez. Poor guy would have had his spirit broken by now had he signed for Arsenal and played for Wenger. He'd be in the u23 'rebuilding his confidence'.

Aurier is so crap
"We'll just have to keep pace with them till then"
Yup that's all you'll need to do:)

Gigantic pitch which is basically the same size as the Emirates? What secret formula do they have?

Guess he’d know all about falling off in February anyway

red cafe on our performance and on facing us next week.

-Really enjoy watching Son. Reminds me very much of Nani who may have frustrated at times but you could never doubt his bravery when he has the ball at his feet. Other players are more circumspect but these players get you off the seat.

-If we get both Bailly and Fellaini back against Spurs we'll have a good chance. One thing for sure is we won't give them such space with Bailly at the back and we'll be able to hurt them going forward with both Fellaini and Lukaku upfront. We won't park the bus at OT, but we won't be over attacking as well.
It'll all depend on the injured players returning before this game. I lost hope on Pogba so at least Fellaini ?

-And we parked the bus against that team, really was a huge feckup.

-(on why Maradana was watching) Someone asked him if he wanted to enjoy some white stuff. He didn't know it meant watching spurs stuff Liverpool.

-Less total points than Brendan now?

-Spurs looking really good. They have developed further this season.
Sanchez is really good and they deal with the injuries in midfield so well. Very impressive and they have more depth in the squad this season no doubt.

-Alli has been fantastic so far.

-Spurs have some good players Tripper looks quality

-Good week for Spurs.

-"Boot it up and let the pole of plenty(their back 5) take care of the rest"
Spurs game plan

-Spurs are still a better team than us imo.
That's depressing.

-Gary neville describing spurs like a greggs pasty in years gone by.

-We're miles off them, they have so much more variety to their game. They can lay low and be compact, and still counter and attack in numbers, while we're only competent at the first. They also have far more intensity in their game than we've shown for years, bar a couple of games.

-Kane - the fantasy signing

-One thing remains absolutely certain, Jose will set us up in a far more attacking system than the one we saw against the dippers. We're still going to have problems, Spurs' high press is difficult to overcome and the likes of Matic + Fellaini will be working their socks off.
Still I'm expecting a huge response from the players I'm this game and ultimately a victory. I think we'll beat them comfortably. o_Oo_O
*

-Kane running his ass off to defend at the other box. Class.

-No way Kane is a Spurs player next season.

-What a save by Lloris

-Klopp's face on the bench

-The life of ox.
Wasn't he on the other end when Liverpool stuck 4 past Arsenal?

-Rose, Eriksen, Ali and Kane in our team and we would be a force. Whats more likely is Poch replacing Mou down the line.

-
I think Pochettino is more valuable than all of them. I mean, they're all good to great players but it's Poch who's taken them up a level.

-I will never understand why neither Liverpool or Arsenal went in for Sanchez. They both needed an athletic thumper in the center of defence, he was obviously available and willing to go to England ... and only Spurs even expressed interest.

-It's a bit embarrassing that Spurs have 4 full backs that are better than ours.

-It would be heartbreaken if Kane was to miss next weekend

-Maybe, just maybe we should have offered that 40m for Kane. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

-(
on what it would take to get Kane) He'd need to kick up a massive fuss, literally a shit storm and then it'd take 200mil. They have absolutely no hope in hell of getting anywhere close to that quality regardless of how much they spend which is why they wouldn't entertain any offers unless Kane went loco. Needless to say, I don't think it'll happen given the way Spurs are improving. He's a fan, has a settled family there and is earning good money which will only increase. Not enough upside to force a move out.

Battered by a great side with a great coach. They're brilliantly run club. Spurs should be the blueprint for where we want to be, but obviously go one step further and win things. We're miles off them, their success is built on a strong defence and of course a world class striker with skill and strenght in between. We all saw what our defence is like today, we shot ourselves in the foot time and time again gave ourselves no chance.

Think Liverpool might get the better of Spurs here but it'll still end up being 2-2 or something.
Kane scores, Liverpool are a mess defensively
My word, what a pathetic attempt at the offside trap.
Harry Kane is better than T. Henry
Great banter.
It hurts me too, but truth was told
I'll hurt you physically in a minute;
Quality goal from Son, Liverpool falling apart here
No cojones liverpool f**l off
I see sp'rs are still struggling at Wembley!
Liverpool is Mane.
off the crossbar from Son ffs  absolutely rampant here Spurs
Spurs are a very good side. People ruling them out the title race were a bit daft.
Mourinho's decision to park the bus vs Liverpool is starting to look very stupid now, this defence is just asking to be got at.
Spurs look really good. It's ****ing disgusting
They are 2nd best team in league behind man city they are going to challenge and then failing to win a trophy
Have to say, Spurs looking good. They would smash us if we don`t sort ourselves out
Spurs can be got at.

You just need to beat their press and put their backline under pressure. To be fair to them Dembele and Wanyama are missed.

Aurier already showing signs of being a joke.
He'll be the best right back in the league under Poch. Unlike Bellerin regressing under Wenger
When are we playing against Spurs?
Liverpool have been awful since they beat us. The press should be all over them and off our backs.
This after Liverpool were flying in the midweek after winning 7-0 in the Champions League.
I guess I'm not too annoyed about Spurs doing Liverpool. Spurs are nailed on to make a CL spot whilst Liverpool and Chelsea look like our main competition for 3rd/4th

I don't think United will be in the title race. Spurs will finish second, though if City keep this up it will be a distant second.
Lol - Liverpool should open up an act on Broadway "The Art of Defending" - smashing hit
I kind of want to see Spurs grind down Liverpool here.

I' m talking 5, 6, or even 7 goals
Conceded 3 at Watford
5 at City
2 at Leicester
4 so far at Wembley

I'll be devastated when they keep a clean sheet at the Emirates
lol

How is Klopp going to talk his way out of this? Somewhere in Manchester, Jose readies his biggest bus for Spurs visit next week. No chance of a 4-4 with Liverpool's showing.
You can sell Kane and buy the Emirates.
This is ridiculous.
Spurs just ooze efficiency.

It wasn't that long ago that they were a laughing stock, now look at them.

Shows you how quickly things can change in football.
Mourinho 100% justified in showing this Liverpool team so much respect
Idiots like Souness were already backtracking from their euphoric state even before this game saying that top4 would be a success for this Liverpool team because of City financial power. What financial power have Spurs then, eh Graeme? What is Liverpool's excuse at all to be this ****?
I wonder how good some of these lads would look outside of Spurs. Not actually sure how good Alli, Winks and Dier really are.

Pochettino has done a real quality job there.
It's about making the most of what you've got.

A few years ago, I would have looked at their playing list and thought the likes of Eriksen, Dembele, and or Walker, just as examples, have some real upside but just haven't brought it together yet.

Poch has got a lot of those players to take the next step in their development.

I mean even some of their signings could be considered underwhelming i.e. Trippier, but Poch extracts the most out of such players and gets them playing a valuable role for the team.

Could you imagine Wenger plucking a Trippier from Burnley and making him look like a serviceable option at RB? I certainly don't. Although it's not the same thing, but Wenger tried something similar with Jenkinson and it failed miserably. Guy even failed with Chambers, who has real talent.
It's not what Wenger thinks. It's how the players handle the situation. If you're a young player at Spurs, having a bad game doesn't lead to the same scrutiny it does at Arsenal. At Arsenal you'll be spoken about every which way from the papers to TV to online. No matter how much players say that they only care what their managers think, those things bother you. It's a much different profile to being a player at Arsenal than it is to being one at Spurs.
Errr what scrutiny you haven't brought any young players through for years. Were a fucking machine compared to you.

Sp**s defence is very suspect once you beat their press. Plus they're playing a huge number of games on a gigantic pitch at Wembley + CL football and Cup games. Really you think so? I'm not that convinced.
Jürgen Klopp - Gegendepressing
On the other hand Arsenal decided to attack, didn't have a shot on target and lost 4-0

They couldnt even take Dier of us, despite their slimy managers best efforts and they think they can get all 3 of our best attacking players, our top class manager. They had it far too good under Ferguson.
