As we don't have a thread for what we say about ourselves I thought I'd pop it in here for fun. Below are some posts after the team was announced. I've not outed anyone, it's just a bit of fun. A lot of the bed wetters I have on ignore so I'm sure I've missed a lot of material. Hell, I've said a lot of crap on here and wanted De Boer instead of Poch (I still cringe about posting this) :)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think it'll be a draw, although we should be looking to rip their defence to shreds.

A victory against these is due. We need to be right on top defensively. We then need to take any chances we get. The key will be how long we can keep Liverpool out for and if we get on top first.

We need to be bang at it today and take our chances, their defence will always give up a chance or two and we need to be brave in possession but also be prepared to play it long if they swarm over us at the back...we've given up goals before trying to play our way out against these.

Team Announced

God help us

Don’t get that line up at all?? Where’s dier?

Wtf? Two left backs on the bench and two right backs starting...

Trippier LWB...*sigh*

Bizzare lineup

Salah is gonna have a field day.

Will be happy with a point after seeing the line-up. Must be major concerns over Rose and Davies. Don't know about Dele and Winks marshaling Coutinho's runs from midfield either.

could this be a tactical masterclass by poch or did the news about dier create some bad vibes?

Hopefully we are saying that he's a genius 10 minutes after this match too... (y)(y)(y)(y)

Looks like it's set up for the counter attack to me... It's the paciest side we can put out. (y)

Calm your tits - (well said Riggi)

Baffling starting line-up but I hope we beat the Dippers nonetheless. Klopp might be wondering how to play against this line-up.

The more I look at that team for this game, the more bonkers it looks. lol This is not the game to be experimenting in. Anyway, hope he's up for making early changes if it goes tits up. COYS!

Puzzled by the selection but proofs in the pudding and Poch can always change it around if it's not working...

Well he was true to his word, he did say that he was gonna pick a wtf team

I wish Poch would learn his lesson about a right back playing left back. We have 2 on the bench and Vertongen for christ sake, it's asking for trouble.

Aurier at lb to counter salah pace. Hopefully we play on counter but looks as though poch is going gung ho (y)

That midfield is so going to get overrun

We don't know what's happening but would be truly disastrous man management from Poch if so.

Honestly think they are going to rip us apart with that lineup, expected us to play more defensive but that doesn't seem the case.

Poch realised when you have Toby Sanchez vertonghen you don’t need a DM lol

We'll win. Fuck em.

Aurier on Salah's side I assume. Tactically I guess that's decent idea. No Sissoko or Dier in midfield seems a tad optimistic though. That said, if we work hard as a team we've got some serious attacking talent in that side.

Worried about how wrong this could go-really baffling-will be in awe if it comes off and would take a draw now

I hope picking a wierd team v Real Madrid and getting a result hasn't gone to Poch's head.

Bound to be Aurier on Salah. Reduce their pacey option, who creates the space for their other attackers, and you go a long way to nullifying their threat. (Mr Pink gets it)

Looking at that line up and our recent form against Liverpool I'll be happy with a Desmond today, that's what I am predicting

Time to put in a proper performance at Wembley, it's long over due. Hoping we play with urgency and tempo.

Pleased to see Son playing, no doubt Poch sees the high press Liverpool play as an opportunity to use pace behind their high defence., (y)

We have a shit record against pool, we aren't great at Wembley and that lineup looks like we are asking for trouble. Which probably means we will win 5-0 and this will be a masterstroke.

...so the answer to Dier getting turned over last year is...no midfield?

Bizarre line up on the face of it, hopefully it's just crazy enough to work

Can see us getting overran in midfield today.Surely sissoko has to start if dier is ill? A midfield of winks eriksen and alli is not strong enough or solid enough defensively

Looking at their team they are nothing to be scared of. The front three are good but that midfield that must be one of the worst Liverpool midfield three ever. Can, Henderson and Milner? We should murder them. (This got 1 optimistic rating instead of the 100 winners it should've got) (y)

Crazy team - this could go very well or very badly.

Reckon it's same formation as Madrid. Dele instead of sissoko. Son for llorente. Aurier lwb

Why Trippier and not KWP at LWB?!

I can’t decide how this is going to go. On the one hand Liverpool won’t sit back so we don’t have to break them down. On the other hand. We have Trippier at left back.

That's another cooky looking line up. Wonder if he's deliberately playing a RB at LB to counter the fact that Salah plays WR forward and cuts inside onto his left ? Time will tell, like Tuesday, could be brave genius could be fucking nuts, either way we are going to have to be right at it.

Salah is going to goose Trippier every time he runs past him. Could be painful.

Not looking forward to this, looks like we're going to attack them and play an open game which is 100% the wrong way to play against this Liverpool side. Hope I'm completely wrong.

Winks and Erickson not exactly powerhouse midfield. And with no Dier behind them quite worrying. I said this in my last post that we do not have strength in depth and we seem to keep loosing players to injury and can’t get a solid team momentum going. But loosing Dier, Davis, Rose, Wanyama and Dembele all from the starting 11 is not good not good at all. Would take a draw right now especially at Wembley.

2-0

I am never going to doubt Poch's tactics again. Also, that draw against Madrid has seriously given us some belief hasn't it? We don't even look uncomfortable right now, we are all over them.

We can knock balls over the top of them all day...they cannot handle it.

If only we had bought a pacey player in the summer

FORTRESS WEMBLEY
Yes!!!!! I made it to the list!!

Some of them are hardly knee jerk though.

I cannot get my head around how Liverpool fans can claim year on year they will be challenging for the title and yet point blank refuse to accept that Klopp will never get them there due to his inability to organise a defence. As others have said, it's incredible how deluded they are about their manager

There seem to be quite a few people who don't understand the mass Liverpool delusion, but it all makes perfect sense really.

The first thing to understand is that the vast majority of their fans were the first of the real glory-hunters. In the 70s and 80s kids all over the country chose to support Liverpool because they were the best, and these are the kind of people who needed to rub things in other kids' faces but also needed someone else to do their winning for them - the kind who needed to be able to end any discussion on football with the phrase "I am right because I support Liverpool so I know more about football than you because you only support...whoever". Your basic bog-standard twatfish if you will.

Liverpool were the best. It's all these kids had. Liverpool will always be the best. It's all these people have. It cannot possibly be any other way. It just is. It's all they have.

Therefore anyone who manages them must be the greatest manager in the world. And any player that plays for them must be the best player in that position in the world. How could it not be so? For this is Liverpool, and everything about Liverpool is always the best. It must be so. Therefore it is.

This being the case, for them not to win every game is impossible. They are the best club with the best players and the best manager in the world. If they do somehow get beaten, it's because their opponents cheated, the ref cheated, the fans cheated, their wives cheated (who could blame them?), an FA conspiracy, a UEFA conspiracy and The Sun.

To be fair they do have a point about The Sun. Which is a shame because it lends substance to their otherwise hilarious victim mentality. Get your "Free the bitey racist One" tee-shirts here.

So that's the majority explained. To explain the rest of them won't take quite so long: the rest of them are mostly Scousers. And they whine about everything simply because they're Scousers. They can't help it. It's so deeply ingrained that even their accent is a permanent whine.

Anybody who doesn't fit either of those profiles probably started supporting after the miracle of Istanbul. No, seriously, it was a miracle. Genuine. The pope confirmed it and everything. Shut up. Five times.

tl:dr : Scousers are deluded and whiny because they are twatfish.

Didn't hear them complaining when they did it to us under avb.

I seem to remember one instance where Kyle walker passed it across our own penalty area at Anfield, another where Younes Kaboul inexplicably passed it into an open Spurs net from a yard out. Paulinho getting himself sent off etc etc

to cry in a thin voice; whine; whimper.

Guess what 'pule' is in Norwegian. It means to have sex with someone.

Those vikings, haha :p

'Pule' is also a very expensive cheese made from the milk of Serbian Balkan donkeys. It costs about $600 a lb :pompous:.

They all keep saying they gave us the win because of their fuck ups. But isn't that the sign of a good side, capitalising and making the most of the other teams mistakes? Or am I getting it all wrong?

Isn't there usually a mistake that leads to a goal?

Even a pure class goal has someone that should have pressed or tried to put a tackle in

Yes but you misunderstand Scouse logic: they deserved to win because they played so badly that they allowed us to win ergo they were the better side.

There is a big difference between running a business and having a play toy that you financially dope to win things. Admittedly the premier league and government should never have allowed what happened at Chelsea and Man City but it’s done.

Lewis yes ain’t the best guy ever but in the case of UAE we are talking about a government that has terrible human rights. The likes of them and Abramovich have blighted our game.

I'd go further and say they have blighted humanity.

I sit next to a Liverpool fan at work and got:
- We dominated between 2-1 and 3-1.
- If it wasn't for Lovren having a nightmare it would have been different
-Home fans were on the teams back until 3-1

ahhhh, the typical reasonable pool fan! makes you wonder why their fanbase is universally hated by other clubs!

And was taking corners that looked dangerous too - shocking to see a Spurs corner get past the first defender, I don't think its happened since Anderton and Sheringham used to do that ridiculous routine

I'm not sure what the point of disagreeing with a light-hearted quip is but there seems to be a few that either think Trippier cant take a corner or, that we have been prolific with corners for years...... Lighten up people!

Isn't it more embarrassing for Liverpool to lose 4-1 to a team that didn't try than be out played? If we lost 4-1 we'd be pissed off obviously but we'd give the winning team credit. What they don't see is we exploited and exposed there weaknesses live on TV. If they watch Kane on the first 2 goals he is more than aware Lovren will fuck up there's a reason we had 3 chances in first 15minsand thats because we targeted Lovren
