massive fan. I think we all know TOB can give a lot more than he's showing but he's probably been asked to just sit there and keep simple whilst allowing the more creative players do their thing.
I've seen him do a lot more, but not regularly for some time. It may be that I always catch him on off-days.

Every one of our age group teams from U16 up (don't follow any younger than that!) are amongst the best in the world right now.

- Our U19s won their Euros this summer
- Our U17s were runners up, losing the final on penalties
- Our U20s won their World Cup
- Our U20s "B" team won the prestigious Toulon Tournament at the same time as our main U20 team was winning the world cup.
- Our U21s were semi finalists in the Euro Championships, losing on penalties to eventual champions Germany.
- Our U17s are hopefully headed for their World Cup Final.

Of the 6 major tournaments we've entered since June, we've won 3, got knocked out on penalties in 2, and are looking good in the 6th. We haven't been knocked out in 90 minutes in any tournament at any age group. It's a remarkable run.

With those in mind, I think it's totally valid to say our current youth teams are, collectively, the best in the world. The first time we can say that in a generation and more.

On top of this, our senior team have Kane, Alli, Rashford, Winks, Stones, Sterling etc, amongst others coming through. Talented youngsters who could be mainstays for a decade, supplemented by the stars coming through the 17-20 age group at the moment.

We need to get the transition to senior football right for these groups. It is the difference between a potential golden era or more failure.

That doesn't make Windys post spam though. Harsh and unfair IMO.

Qatar World Cup could be very interesting. But of all the places to win a World Cup it would be the worst lol.Hopefully they will get stripped of it and we take over.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding you both, especially coys200, but injuries had nothing to do with how few league games Winks started last season. He didn't get injured until April 1st.

He started against Gillingham (LCup) on sep 21, then against Liverpool (Lcup Out 25) then eventually got his first league start in November in a 3-2 win against West Ham where he played well and got the winner. He then waits a month for his next league start against Burnley, plays well enough and we win. He then doesn't get another league start until April 1. In the mean time he was constantly available, on the bench or starting cup games.

Injuries didn't impact his availability until April last year.

I am very doubtful that injury was the real reason he didn't start any games this season until Huddersfield. He's played a full 90 in July friendly and has been available and on the bench every game since just about.

I think it is far more likely to be Pochettino reticence than a case of gradually easing Winks in, but the player isn't going to kick up a fuss is he, especially with a guy like Poch who doesn't take kindly to ambitious young kids getting impatient and/or arsey.
Winks literally said he wasn't feeling 100% until recently.

The big one for me re winks was when we beat Chelsea 2-0 at home last season and took dembele off for winks in last 25 mins.It was our biggest game of season at that point. If that isn’t showing trust I don’t know what is.
