I have a little sympathy for Liverpool fans. Along with us (and dare I say it - Arsenal), they are a properly run football club with rich history that was earned the proper way. Seeing Chelsea buy their way to the top table was difficult for all of us. Man City then coming along and taking financial doping to another level is a real slap in the face as it means realistically they will not be able to compete financially with the richest 3 clubs (Man U, Man C and Chelsea). Leaving them scrapping with us and Arsenal for the last CL place. And they have seen Levy build us up over a ten year period to totally eclipse them. Our stadium. Our manager. Our youth set up. Our squad. Out net spend of zero every year. And constant, almost relentless improvement. Momentum. They must know that once we are in our new stadium we will be so far ahead of them that they will need a sugar daddy themselves, or face the next decade playing Europa League football if they are lucky.

There seem to be quite a few people who don't understand the mass Liverpool delusion, but it all makes perfect sense really.

The first thing to understand is that the vast majority of their fans were the first of the real glory-hunters. In the 70s and 80s kids all over the country chose to support Liverpool because they were the best, and these are the kind of people who needed to rub things in other kids' faces but also needed someone else to do their winning for them - the kind who needed to be able to end any discussion on football with the phrase "I am right because I support Liverpool so I know more about football than you because you only support...whoever". Your basic bog-standard twatfish if you will.

Liverpool were the best. It's all these kids had. Liverpool will always be the best. It's all these people have. It cannot possibly be any other way. It just is. It's all they have.

Therefore anyone who manages them must be the greatest manager in the world. And any player that plays for them must be the best player in that position in the world. How could it not be so? For this is Liverpool, and everything about Liverpool is always the best. It must be so. Therefore it is.

This being the case, for them not to win every game is impossible. They are the best club with the best players and the best manager in the world. If they do somehow get beaten, it's because their opponents cheated, the ref cheated, the fans cheated, their wives cheated (who could blame them?), an FA conspiracy, a UEFA conspiracy and The Sun.

To be fair they do have a point about The Sun. Which is a shame because it lends substance to their otherwise hilarious victim mentality. Get your "Free the bitey racist One" tee-shirts here.

So that's the majority explained. To explain the rest of them won't take quite so long: the rest of them are mostly Scousers. And they whine about everything simply because they're Scousers. They can't help it. It's so deeply ingrained that even their accent is a permanent whine.

Anybody who doesn't fit either of those profiles probably started supporting after the miracle of Istanbul. No, seriously, it was a miracle. Genuine. The pope confirmed it and everything. Shut up. Five times.

tl:dr : Scousers are deluded and whiny because they are twatfish.
I've listen to Talksport over the last couple of days, where they have invited Liverpool fans to phone in an discuss their current predicament. What makes me laugh are the locations of their so called supporters, such as Sanjay from Luton, Darren from Colchester and Jason from Milton Keynes.. There are very few callers from Liverpool, which maybe a reflection on the shite content and discussions endured on Talksport or is this a true representation of their fan base..

They all keep saying they gave us the win because of their fuck ups. But isn't that the sign of a good side, capitalising and making the most of the other teams mistakes? Or am I getting it all wrong?

We out-pressed them and out-played them. Personally thought Trippiers pass for the first was a moment of brilliance.

Some Liverpool fans going through a steep learning curve at the moment.

The last 2-3 season we've handed out a least one caning to every single top club....except Liverpool.....clearly their fans who live in a particularly multi-coloured unicorns and rainbows filter bubble were utterly oblivious to the level we play at now.

Lovely to watch the penny drop

I still think we need to give Arse a really good hiding in the league. Last years 2-0 was nice, It may have been the first time we beat them without conceding since 95. But a good 3-0/ 4-0 is in order.

True representation I reckon, I'm born and bred in London and I'd say about half the people Round here support Utd or Liverpool.

I'm surrounded by Liverpool fans at work.
3 within 20 feet of me. More around the office. More come in to see me on appointments most days.
All from Essex/Kent/Hartford except one born Scouser.

Anyway - on to tonight's cup final.

I also have a lot of West ham fans here.
One asked me if I was going tonight. I said no, it's a crappy game in a crappy cup where reserved will plod along and it'll be boring. Also have facility responsibility on week days.
He said "we've sold all 5k tickets, it's West Ham, it should he good
I said "I doubt more than 25k will turn up, no one cares"..

I just looked at the ticketing site. There's thousands and thousands of tickets available.

Is this the ultimate way of showing them we just don't give a fuck about them?

Milton Keynes is full of Liverpool fans - more so than any other single club in fact. Obviously there are huge numbers in Liverpool but Talksport’s biggest audiences have always been in the south east.

Liverpool and United are the go-to teams for a lot of Asian fans, and given there are large Asian populations in London and the south east it's no surprise. I'm working with two Asian guys right now who are from north and west London and one is Liverpool and the other United.

I know some Arsenal fans who actually hope we win 6-0 as it's the only way they can see of getting rid of Wenger :wideyed:.

Poor old Arsene. For Gooners he's a bit like an elderly favourite uncle who used to take you go karting when you were a kid but now smells vaguely of poo and keeps on creepily touching your girlfriend's inner thigh.

Liverpool are seen more as a tourist club, with weekend break supporters, but not at the level of United.. Saturday, Manchester will be filled with Scandinavians, Cockney Reds, half of Somerset and coach loads on to their next stage after a visit to Bicester village!

Hahaha, they wish. We beat them 6 - 0, he'll sign the extension in the post match press conference. Every time their fans see a light at the end of his tunnel (urgh), he does something to break them a little bit more.

All my Liverpool mates have been really good. Yeah, they’ve mentioned that they gifted us a goal or 2 but they all accepted that we were much better on the day and, generally, are a step up from them at the moment.

My boss, who’s one of the nicest most reasonable men you could meet (and is proper scouse) refused to solely blame Lovren and said he’s starting to question Klopp for the first time and he hopes we go onto win the league. My experience of Liverpool fans is really good. Go online however........

Its because of the colour Red. China and most Asian countries have a fascination with Red.... So I'm told

I don't get this attitude. I bloody well care. I want Spurs to win the thing. It's a chance to win some silverware. If it's good enough for ManU, it should be good enough for us. We should be able to cope with competing for several trophies.

I was heading up to Manchester for a stag weekend a couple of years ago when they were playing Norwich at Old Trafford, and the train up from London was absolutely packed full of United fans. About 50% were from the south and the other 50% were tourists visiting London going up there for the game.

We've become more like that in the past with an increase in tourist fans, but I'd hate to ever get to the point where basically none of our fans were from anywhere near the club or had any connection to it. United are the Disneyland of football clubs.
