I don't get this attitude. I bloody well care. I want Spurs to win the thing. It's a chance to win some silverware. If it's good enough for ManU, it should be good enough for us. We should be able to cope with competing for several trophies.

Much weakened team out for them last night. They cared about it last year because they had no chance of the league.

Totally agree, looking forward to tonight and I want to win every trophy we can

Edit-Plus it’s West Ham, I don’t want us losing to them under any circumstances

I was heading up to Manchester for a stag weekend a couple of years ago when they were playing Norwich at Old Trafford, and the train up from London was absolutely packed full of United fans. About 50% were from the south and the other 50% were tourists visiting London going up there for the game.

We've become more like that in the past with an increase in tourist fans, but I'd hate to ever get to the point where basically none of our fans were from anywhere near the club or had any connection to it. United are the Disneyland of football clubs.

Yes Utd and Liverpool have fans outside their cities. 2 reasons I can think of off the top of my head:

1) They have both had periods of dominance in English football and therefore created generations of supporters who were attracted to them from a young age, many of whom may not have had strong family connections to other clubs, and they are known in other countries whereas less successful clubs like ourselves are not as visible.

2) London is where all the jobs and money have been for hundreds of years so these fans and/or their parents have moved south in the past to get better work and a better life for their family. I know a number of Utd fans who's parents are from up north originally but they were born down here. I follow Spurs because of my father but I actually grew up in Birmingham as that was where he got a job for the majority of my youth.

Not sure why we always use their varied fan bases as a point of ridicule. Surely anyone if free to support anyone!?

I'd assumed that, you get quite a lot of Asian Arsenal fans as well.

Yes, Arsenal was the first English Club to visit HongKong in the 30s; and HongKong's best supported club, South China FC plays in a red shirt with white sleeves, white shorts and red stockings.

People get cross after a game. I understand that. The following day can be a bit dispiriting too, especially if you've been subject to a bit of 'banter' from opposition fans. But once two days have passed, then surely Liverpool fans have told each other to 'calm down, calm down' and focus on next weekend's game.

Yes?

Err No. This is from an hour and a half ago.

"For the most part they sat back like the poncey fucking ****s they are and waited for us to come onto them and make an unforced error upon which they pounced like Notts Forest of old [Clough's shower of fucking bastards] used to do every fucking time they played us. I've fucking despised it ever since Helenio Herrera invented the fucking thing so forgive me if I won't afford it the fucking steam off my shit [praise wise that is]."

Hmm. A bit touchy still then. But, hey, it'll blow over soon. Unless, of course, they've actually planned to be cross tomorrow...

"Did you see Chris Bascombe's unbelievable marks for Spurs in the Telegraph. I think he gave them eight 8's, a 7, a 9 and one 6. What a fucking joke. Which reminds me I tried to ring him today to tell him what a complete load of utter bollocks but didn't get an answer so I'll try again first thing tomorrow. The Spurs fawning creep."

o_O:ROFLMAO:

Do you know what? I think we might just, ever so slightly, have wound them up on Sunday...

Clough's shower of bastards and their dastardly tactics...as opposed to the dazzling Liverpool ploy back in the day - nick a goal and then spend the rest of the match passing back to the 'Keeper from the centre-circle, working it out to the centre-circle and as soon as an oppos player approached passing it back to the 'Keeper, rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat.

The thing is, we could conceivably have been four up by eighteen minutes...literally. We had another gilt edged chance just after they scored. We could have been 5 - 1 up before the half-hour, and they had the Coutinho shot, and any maybe the late Salah one. That's it. We scored again after the break and then took our foot off the peddle. What type of rabid delusion makes them imagine that is anything other than complete and utter humiliation territory.

Its because of the colour Red. China and most Asian countries have a fascination with Red.... So I'm told

I think the asians he was refering to were South Asians.

I am of Indian origin and went to schools in the London borough of Harrow in the late 70s and 80s.

Most of my asian mates all supported Liverpool despite never having travelled north of Watford.

True, but when they were dominant, they still won the so called 'minor' cups. We should set out to win as many trophies as possible. I don't give a stuff what other teams do, I care about Spurs. Maybe when we've won 15 league titles and 13 FA Cups, we can be a bit more choosy.

This forum shows that we have fans from all over the world as well. Most clubs do nowadays thanks to so many PL matches being shown all over the world, as well as the "hereditary" supporters.

To ridicule a fan for where they are from is pathetic. To ridicule them for being entitled, delusional bindippers is perfectly acceptable. It might even be compulsory.

to cry in a thin voice; whine; whimper.

Guess what 'pule' is in Norwegian. It means to have sex with someone.

Those vikings, haha :p

'Pule' is also a very expensive cheese made from the milk of Serbian Balkan donkeys. It costs about $600 a lb :pompous:.

also, stopping Norwegians from having sex with Serbian Donkey's and then selling us the cheese is why we voted Brexit.

Enough about Pool. Our reserves are playing tonight at Fortress Wembley against the Dildo Brother's vanity project in the Carbootsale Cup. :meh:

From KUMB:

"Looking forward to this, an away game with our great away fans
a feeling of belonging
the chant I'd love to hear...
Gold Sullivan and and Brady
get out of our club
on repeat"

"Spurs will play a third string for this. Their fans couldn't give a **** about it. We will lose."

"Vienna wrote:Tbf they should care though as it's their only chance of a trophy like us."

"Well that's just b*llocks isn't it...
As much as I hate them, this is a nothing game for them. They couldn't care less...other than the fact they know us losing to their second string will wind us up even more."

"We have a 100% record at the new Wembley."

"7-0 Spurs win."

"What about the 2nd half ?"

"Pains me to say it, but they are a fantastic team at the mo - watched the game yesterday and the passing, commitment, passion, speed of play is something to behold - they are light years ahead of us on the pitch.

Like bookends we opened the weekends TV with an appalling display against Brighton - they closed the weekends action with a great display against Liverpool - we're light years apart.

cue "why don't you **** off and support Spurs then you ****er"..

"I've banged my head , we'll win 2-1"

"I'm just glad our cup final is actually at Wembley this year!"

"I watched on in envy also , Mart - and anyone who says ' Go support , Spurs then ' is also envious but won't admit it , if people can marvel at Barcelona and can't admit to Tottenham playing the best football in the Premiership [ with far less money than Manchester City ] then they're not being true to themselves .
Tottenham were headed for relegation before Harry Redknapp got them to 8th [ I think ] back in [ I've forgotten which season also !!
icon_smile.gif
] - the job that Daniel Levy has done there is nothing short of miraculous - they didn't spend the Bale money well but they've invested in youth and experience and have the exact blend of both - it won't be just West Ham fans looking on with jealous eyes it will be most of the Premiership , credit where credit's due ."

"Tott 2nd string v Our strongest XI 3-0. More misery."

"Got to play a strong XI. If we lose this then the season is pretty much over."

It's a lucky colour, in China anyway. I'm not sure about other countries in the far east, but quite possibly in many of them as well.
