I've listen to Talksport over the last couple of days, where they have invited Liverpool fans to phone in an discuss their current predicament. What makes me laugh are the locations of their so called supporters, such as Sanjay from Luton, Darren from Colchester and Jason from Milton Keynes.. There are very few callers from Liverpool, which maybe a reflection on the shite content and discussions endured on Talksport or is this a true representation of their fan base..

The fans from the city of Liverpool have no credit on their phones to call in with and the only radios they have, have been stolen from cars and don't run off the mains. They would call in if they could!

I have a little sympathy for Liverpool fans. Along with us (and dare I say it - Arsenal), they are a properly run football club with rich history that was earned the proper way. Seeing Chelsea buy their way to the top table was difficult for all of us. Man City then coming along and taking financial doping to another level is a real slap in the face as it means realistically they will not be able to compete financially with the richest 3 clubs (Man U, Man C and Chelsea). Leaving them scrapping with us and Arsenal for the last CL place. And they have seen Levy build us up over a ten year period to totally eclipse them. Our stadium. Our manager. Our youth set up. Our squad. Out net spend of zero every year. And constant, almost relentless improvement. Momentum. They must know that once we are in our new stadium we will be so far ahead of them that they will need a sugar daddy themselves, or face the next decade playing Europa League football if they are lucky.
I think you need to read up on how Liverpool first rose to prominence, they had their own cash injection back in the day from their own “sugar daddy.”

I’m not so sure you could use the term “properly run” either, they’ve been horrendously run for years, spunking huge amounts of cash on mediocre players, making a monumental hash of their marketing opportunities, having multiple owners bail out due to the lack of return on their investment...

They’ve been one of the worst run clubs in the Prem for years.

@yiddopaul and @kr1978

I was hoping you'd both say no to help my point lol.

When I said we don't care, I didn't mean about winning the carlicaribworthycola cup. I meant about West Ham.
They thought itd be a sell out because they were coming to town.

The thing is though they've had relative success

I’m within walking distance of Wembley so don’t really have many excuses not to go-wish I’d thought of one tonight though!

Had the “pleasure” of being in a carriage shared with West Ham fans on the way back home tonight.

“It’s a night we’ll be talking about for years”.
“Thought it would end up 5 or 6-0”.
“We had absolutely no right to win that game”.

If I was a West Ham fan I would be monumentally pissed off that they can only be bothered to play well (relatively speaking) when they play us. They were complete crap for most of the last two seasons except when they had a chance to 'stop us winning the league'. If they put in as much effort against other teams they might be half-way decent.

The commentators described it as 'a famous victory'

What? lol

Reminds me when Keegan's Citeh overturned a three - nil first half deficit to win (i think) 3-5 as did Yanited a few seasons later with the same result.

Football is a strange game sometimes, and i thought that i had seen the last of such comebacks in the modern game. You certainly cannot win em' all but that was fucking embarrassing tonight.

you bastards need to be a bit more magnanimous in defeat. It's clear Poch's instructions were not to hammer them to protect Bilic's managerial position - even give them a fluky win if possible.

Without Bilic how else can we ensure the pikey ****s get relegated :cautious:

That defeat was bitter and shows a worrying complacency amongst our squad.

If we think we've arrived before losing, after being 2 nil up then thinking we can control games... It's a lesson learned hopefully.

I don't have any sympathy for Liverpool fans. They had a long run of success which established them as a really massive club. That will last them a while. Since their real glory days, they continued to win trophies regularly until a decade ago. They've won one trophy and qualified for the Champions' League maybe four times in the last ten years, which isn't bad for a team in a slump. They continue to pay big money for players and to offer big wages. Not that long ago they recruited one of the hottest managers in Europe (up to you how you interpret 'hottest'). They are better than mediocre for the Premier League, and they should expect to sign good players, challenge for trophies and Champions' League places.

For me it was quite telling that this happened when Lloris, Verts and Kane weren't playing. I don't think Toby is as commanding/captaining as most of us would think.

In summary chaps, it was bad form from Poch and the players, simply not acceptable.

I was getting plenty of grief last night. From a fucking Liverpool fan. All I could do was correct his grammar. This site has taught me well.
