We still had plenty of starters in the league playing though - Dele, Son, Dier, Rose, Trippier, Toby and Davies are all core players to the team. No blame on Rose's part he's been out so long and put a good shift in. Just seemed to be a bad attitude overall and lack of urgency and understanding that West ham hate us and even at 2-0 down will fight until the end.
If you've every played in a team you'll know it takes a lot less than 4 or 5 changes to fk things up completely regardless of how good those stepping in are.
Its about building an understanding.
Thats what Poch is fantastic at, he gets everyone singing from the same hymn sheet so a few changes just slip seamlessly in. Wholesale changes though is too much of a gamble but as I said, we as a club dont care about this trophy.

Even if we won, 4 of top 6 still in and so still a way to go.

We need Chelsea, Man U, Arse and city in it for as long as possibl.

This could work in our favour

Imagine if we had gone on to win the Carabao Cup, do you think fans from other clubs would say, wow, they won a great trophy!? no, they would just say we won a shitty cup, that nobody cares about. The Carabao Cup has little prestige, and the up side to this, is that we can fully focus on the EPL, CL and the F.A Cup, have less games to play, less fatigue, less risk of injuries.

Yes we are all angry and upset about the way we lost tonight, complacency, arrogance, poch's late subs, whatever but to believe that the League Cup was the only realistic way of winning a trophy this season is ridiculous. We are a highly ambitious club now, aiming for the very top and we are getting there.

It's not about what other clubs or fans think it's the galvanising effect, confidence, extra energy and buzz that this squad can feed off. Lifting even the League Cup would offer this. So much more so IMO than a point in the Bernebeu for example.

Since when has winning a trophy been about what other fanbases think? I just want to have fun watching football and winning a trophy is great fun! It's a lot more fun than 2nd place!

The fact of the matter is, there is more glory in winning 1 league cup than winning nothing for nearly 10 years.

Horrible competition with a ludicrous final date that destabilises your entire season as the we won the cup attitude confuses players in to thinking your seasons finished with a cup win

So I guess that makes me a prick I have hated this comp since Ramos spurs didn't win a game for about 12 yrs after winning it.
Not the only team to do this either crap competition because of the date of the final so personally don't like it at all and couldn't care a fuck if we are out :)

My bad.:(

That’s not true though

Big clubs finish around top of league

People nead to relax.

Yes, we had a shit 2 half, yes we are out of the cup. But practicly every big teams are still in it, and our odds of winning this were not that great anyway.

And better to have this lesson in this cup, at this stage, then later on.

And if we were still in it, the chances of a injury to a key player is always there. Now it’s definitly not!

And this year, with wembely etc. Our squad isn’t deep enough to compete in 4 different arenas imo.

So no need to go completely bassinga, and throw your toys.....you know the drill :)

it’s not all bad what happend is what i’m trying to say

And though it hurts as hell now, a semi loss is always more crap.

Next year, in our new fortress, we will win this(y)
this is the exact attitude that has us with an empty trophey cabinet and a sorry second half performance.

To be winners, every game and every minute matters

Why? Did you see arsenal's line up? Unless you are a regular watcher of their youth team you wouldn't have recognised half of their team. And the final is in March, 2 months before the season finishes. Only 3 more games to the final, hardly a burden for a chance to win a trophy.

Why does it have to be one or another? Surely it's possible to finish top 4 while also winning the League Cup (n)
This.
Its 4 games ffs its not a marathon.
How big an impact on the league could it possibly make?
Edit- forgot 2 leg semi (wtf is that about? Anyone?)

They play more established players here on in.

With Europe and busy schedule etc, more chance of injuries.

If we would have won it, then yes, but the issue is also the players mindset to begin with, oh well it's the Carabao Cup, I'm only going to be half arsed to play etc

Yeah I know but its a gamble. Might work might not. You've nothing to gauge what kind of a performance you're likely to get.
Wham are fighting for their lives as a team and the coach is fighting for his job.
Our coach came and and publicly stated he doesn't give a fuck about this competition.
Who do you think is going to win?

Why do you care what other fans say about a trophy?

You’re a Spurs fan aren’t you? Don’t you want to see us winning trophies

Yes, and of course I want to see us winning trophies, that goes without saying, but in hindsight, we have to move onwards and upwards.

I’m counting on them all making League, FA Cup and European finals

Hopefully we go out early to concentrate on finishing 3rd whilst those idiots make fools of themselves

Not always, but this season very relaxed about going out

However, if that had been the fa cup would have been rather cross with that performance

Tbh it's the FA I really want. I hope they feel fkin terrible after this and come to their senses, starting with Poch.
