We need to get Edwards involved in the first team. A dribbler is what we don't have in attack besides Son.

Put Edwards in with better players and I think his motivation will increase greatly.
I'm worried about Onomah and Edwards with Poch.

Next season, they need to be in the team or else I don't think they will ever be given a chance.

Nobody can convince me after last night that Nkoudou being on the bench over Edwards is the right call. There's just no justification anymore (if there ever was).
I think N'Koudou has shown he's not really worth a squad place, if Edwards is the one to earn that spot, for sure. But that space should be opened up to a youth player no doubt.

He'd have been ideal last night to come on and create in the second half.

Some of the more established players were just going through the motions last night. In fact I was thinking that was the most boring spurs West Ham game that I had seen. When they started to play we couldn't go up a gear. A couple of younger players would have been better. I don't think Poch will be bothered. It's all on the next two games.

I have to agree.

Last season when we were 2/3/4 goals up with the best part of 30 minutes to go I don't get why Poch didn't give Onomah opportunity to come off the bench. There was nothing to lose but a lot to gain if Onomah could settle in and show his quality.

Edwards doesn't even make the bench.

i've given up on edwards being involved this season, maybe he will reconsider the possibility of going out on loan if he gets any interesting offers in january.

Imagine another country having the most talented attacking player they've produced sitting in their u23s, while they sign and give chances to older unremarkable player small winger, as the other one is not physically ready.

I love how our academy system has come so far, and yet chances are still based on if they're strong enough.

Edwards before this recent year group was England's best and most exciting attack talent or no.10 , in a country producing the best players. But we've somehow contrived to give more chances to. A 22 year old that hasn't shown much so far in his career and barely featured for France youth teams in a set up weaker than ours.

The reason we seemingly have to go for these unknowns is because we can't compete financially with big clubs. But if we continue to waste money on these we definitely won't.

We could have saved the fee we used for Nkoudou and/or Njie and put it towards top players wages and given Edwards or Oduwa chances instead. We would be in a far better situation as we would have signed a better player and also had our own who could be top class or sell for money and contributed just as much.

The very definition of an unknown or under the radar player we are getting lucky on is taking chances on someone who hasn't attracted much interest or has no real reputation as their ability hasn't caught anyone's eye. Are they going to really be better than our best players?

Think about how average these players must have looked at 17/18 compared to Edwards it's crazy. They wouldn't have looked any better than Georgiou

Because whereas most people used to agree with that, since Poch has come in and said he doesn't like it, that has now become a redundant method of bringing academy players through, and isn't actually very useful apparently.

The moment when Nkoudou tried to run with the ball and just ran the ball straight out of play....... Just wow

If I was Edwards I'd really be thinking what do I have to do to get a chance. Why wouldn't he be demotivated playing u23s? This is nothing personal against gkn, but he shouldn't be taking up a place on the bench instead of Edwards. No way imo.

Even if Edwards doesn't make it, he has a much higher ceiling than gkn. And therefore should be given more chances.

He definitely needs a loan in January, seems to have lost confidence in his own ability. I hope he comes good but Poch has some decisions to make. And as @WindyCOYS said, the likes of Bennetts and Edwards can do much better with the 10-15 mins that GKN has been getting here and there.

With Skipp now showing promise we're stacked with potential CMs at the moment. Winks already in the first team and onomah out on loan, we also have TOB. Granted with Skipp only being 16 he'll be a few years away from the first team mind.

I think there’s way to many question marks hanging over Edwards head... he’s coming across as another Taarabt/Ravel Morrison. Bundles of talent, questionable attitude and made of cotton wool.

I haven't heard of any examples of Edwards bad attitude or indiscipline unlike Ravel Morrison and Adel Taarabt.

unfortunately the "i've heard he has a bad attitude" line has been repeated so many times now that he's basically stuck with this troublemaker tag, despite there never being anything to suggest that's actually the case. whenever he has a poor game for example it's apparently because he was sulking, not because you know, he's young and just happened to not play well

Don't forget the whole hand placement debacle, that proved he's and absolute wrong'un.
