Pochettino always finds a spot for dier.
I would have thought Sanchez would have been perfect up against lukaku?

BBC have forgotten Lamela exists, insisting Kane and Wanyama are the only players out for this match.

Come back Erik!

Soak and break game?

Would have liked to see Sanchez/Dier in the back 3 to help deal with Lukaku's physicality but as ever, in poch we trust. At least the bench looks pretty solid

His Belgium team mates know how to handle him, pretty sure Mourinho would have been planning on targeting Sanchez in training all week.

According to the OS, Lamela is available for selection. He's no longer listed as "out". Only Wanyama & Kane.

The whole point of spending significant money on a 32 year old Llorente was for his experience and ability to step in for high pressure matches like this. I think we'll get a result today, but Son traditionally doesn't fare well as a lone striker against physical center backs. Go back last season and look at some of the games we played with him as the lone striker after we beat City at WHL, and you'll see some turgid performances. Bournemouth away, Leverkusen both away and at home. In fact, virtually all of his league goals came with either Kane or Janssen on the pitch or as a substitute.

This is a massive game for us. Really can't be losing this and falling behind 9 points of City when you include goal difference this early and hope to catch them. I also think Sanchez should've started over Dier for his ability to deal with the pace of United's front line. Mkhitarayan dominated us at OT last season.

Even without Harry I was fairly optimistic until I saw John Moss is the referee, the laziest and worst in the league

How do you know that Son is playing as a lone striker, how do you know that he's not playin in a false role like he did a against Man City for example?

I find the calls for Llorente perplexing especially when he's played he has been pretty average when called upon and we know that Son can do a job playing as a front man for us.

Just like to point out that the Sky conspiracy against Spurs continues to know no bounds, with their 3 in-studio pundits having all represented either Spurs, or Spurs *and* Liverpool, for a game between Spurs and Man Utd. Those bloody Sky bastards are just so biased against us!!
