Which is why, before the season started, I said we needed to win a domestic cup...then poch comes out and basically says the league cup is rubbish. :D

Strange how we took it for granted and got jacked in the second half against spam.
I watched the first half again last night and we were actually quite rubbish. We sleepwalked our way though the bulk of it.

Shows you how dogshit spam are, because we still dominated them that half.

Also shows how wrong our attitude to the tourney was, to let them win it in the other..

So, we threw the cup on Wed for this game.... and that ended well

Look at West Ham, they are through and winning comfortably at Palace. Yes Man U v Palace are different oponents, but so are Spurs v West Ham I thought?

Could have had a tie v arsenal instead we will be at home watching emerdale whilst 2 of our rivals move closer to winning a trophy and our gamble back fired as we have come out the weekend with 0 points too

Thought we played well and were unlucky, did they even confirm aurier Was offside? I never seen replay as that would have been 1-0 to us not them, fine line between success and failure, unfortunately we are often on the wrong end of fine line...

I didn't watch the game but I'm assuming the refereeing from Jon moss was pathetic and completely against us like usual?

Why we brought Llorente still mystifies me. We should have gone all in on Zaha and had a good option in the final third and also added much needed pace.

We need a CM who can affect the game.Drive forward create a chance or score a goal.Winks is tidy but I’m not seeing a lot more.Dembele keeps the ball well but creates nothing.Sissoko is poor against quality opponents.Maybe it’s dele or maybe we have to buy one.
This. All day long. Eriksen aside, our midfield is sterile.

People keep questioning the teams mentality and yet a lot of people here are already giving up on the title.
Yeah it's bullshit. The mentality isn't an issue. We were tired after some draining games, players missing at the wrong time, players out of form at the wrong time and we got Jose'd.

Really could of done without that West ham farce. Stupid early round league cup London derby.

What I find most frustrating is that we have not even being close to score a goal in the whole game. We had one chance with Alli.
We really depend on Kane and Eriksen way, way, way to much. If ether don’t play or are out of form then we hardly score. Alli and Son are great when we have Kane and/or Eriksen playing and playing well but they are not dependable to win us games on their own regularly. It’s really easy to forget this due to haw consistent Kane and Eriksen normally are, but at times like this we see how week we are without them.

Win the initial header and job done - its criminal to allow Lakaku so much space to win the header like that, yes granted after that, we needed to tidy up and didn't - But Toby was as much to blame - he challenges Lakaku at least he was yards off him.

Once you know you arent winning it you have to retreat and read it. Not one defender in football history was beating Lukaku to that ball. It was bang on his head and he is a monster

If we'd have battered spam, like we should have, they wouldn't have had the belief to put in a performance against palace today.

It would have sent them spiralling even further.

We offered him really stupid wages (£40k a week) when we were chasing him. That's why he signed a new improved contract with Palace. We had ITK that he has a buy-out clause which comes into operation next April.

Well would you not say the result Wednesday was depressing? And looking at the team I do not see a win today. If we keep it close that won’t be to bad but if we get hammered that would be 2 “ depressing results” yes the game hasn’t started yet but I am speculating. And to be honest I am not sure there are many people who would bet against me predicting we will go into the Madrid games loosing two games without Harry Kane!
It was annoying but not depressing. The world hasn't fallen in after a couple of defeats. We managed without Kane last season and we need to be able to because a good team should not rely on one player.

I hate Jon Moss but really we should only be complaining about ourselves. We were poor and never greatly looked like scoring to be honest.

Of 7 goals conceded this year in the league 4 have been after the 80' minute. 3 lead to dropped points - Chelsea winner, Burnley level, and now Man U winner.

I'm sure I am not going mad in thinking that many on here were aghast at the though of us signing Zaha

Disagree. There is nothing wrong mentally with the club now. You simply can't win every game. Sometimes the winner is down to luck. The right bounce of the ball. The officials. Finishing on the day. Injuries. All these components matter.

We can only aim to be consistent in our quality which we are now. The trouble is that there is another squad in City's that is better than ours and Utd and Chelsea are also close.

Agreed, you can't win every game and need luck.

So are we so unlucky that we have managed just one win in sixteen away games against top six sides?

To say thats it's not a mental thing is flawed given those facts, and maybe we just ain't as good as we think we are. Easy on the eye maybe, great to watch certainly, as Jose proved today, pretty football isn't key to winning games and ultimately titles.
