Lol at this thread title and Merson grading them highly in his summer transfer ratings - dickhead!!! (yeah I know it's widely known Merson is a dickhead but his being on sky sports as a 'football expert' still offends me).

Phil Neville declaring an interest according to the BBC.

I'm putting this top of my letter to Santa.

Really hope this happens. I do love it when the likes of Giggs and Campbell throw their hat in the ring for big Premier league management roles, just on the basis they were good players. They never seem to be interested in the lesser positions, which tells me their sense of entitlement is bigger than their desire to manage a football club. Now Neville thinks he deserves a shot, priceless.

Giggs did his badges and has coached, so not the same level as campbell. Doubt he'd get it, although the new owners might give him a go.

Exactly. Then when they inevitably don't get it all the "proper football men" in the media start on their whole "blaady foregners, coming over here, taking our managerial jobs! What's Jonny Foreigner got that Ryan Giggs hasn't, eh?" To which the answer is usually experience as a fucking football manager :banghead:

Giggs retired from playing three and a half years ago since when I'd guess 75% of lower division clubs have changed their manager, i wonder how many of them he has applied for or how many he has rejected, not knocking in particular but it always amazes me how these guys don't get that once retired all they are is ex players starting from scratch, he needs to do his apprentiship first.
If anything history should tell us that great players don't make great managers, i think Everton are smart enough to know that too.

Why would Giggs or Neville deserve it over Unsworth? He's been doing well with the under 23s so give him a chance if they can't get an experienced manager.

Exactly. I was glad to see that Paul Scholes seemed like he genuinely wanted the Oldham job as it's that sort of job the ex-pro's should prove themselves at. Look at Pippo Inzaghi getting promoted with Venezia for example.

Glad we are done with everton away tbh. They were a real mess when we played them. Not saying they'll suddenly be great or anything but surely they'll improve over the next months

Anyone thinking that they wont challenge for 4th is nuts. They have always been tough to beat Barkley will not be a great loss and if they manage to sign Rooney and Sigurdson with their experience I expect them to take points off all the contenders including us

I like Everton being shit for two reasons:
1 their fans are irritating.
2 I want Ross Barkley so them struggling makes him signing a new deal less likely.

To think some were worried that they would gatecrash the top 4 lol

It would be very weird seeing Everton in the Championship. Still haven’t got used to Villa being in it.

This has gone more spectacularly wrong than even those who criticised the title notion thought possible.

I reckon Koeman's watching this in his pants, with a KFC bucket, laughing his arse off.

Enjoy them suffering but don't want them relegated. I think they might be the team we've gotten the most points against down the years.

Only because they're the only ever-present in the top flight in the last 25 years who we've usually been better than.

Lol. Feckin talk to me about KFC.

See my post in the "could you survive a visit to your local pub if you had to fight the thing it was named after." thread. (Page 2)

There are too many square pegs at Everton, they have Rooney, Siggudrson and Klaasen and they all really need to be playing number 10. They’ve no natural striker (Rooney is too old for this role)

That being said, a couple of key signings and they could suddenly look a decent team again. They aren’t shite, but they don’t look like they have a game plan.

Anyone else massively surprised by how little an impact Klaassen has made at Everton so far? Barely seen him do anything of note
