Aurier had 2 nightmare moments but was OK apart from that and his customary lunge. I think Zaha would have roasted Trippier though.

Trippier had the best player in the world in his pocket on Wednesday...
I think Sissoko was being used as a scapegoat up until we got the goal. I thought he actually put a decent shift in and was part of some of our best moves. He's playing much better than last year.
He just doesn’t suit us.Christ, I hated Janssen, but I cannot yet say that this guy is any better.
Because he is?Why does so many people have the opinion that aurier is a better defender than trippier?

I like the idea of Trippier in midfield, even mentioned this a few weeks ago.I think he's part of the problem. Having a player in our CM/8 area who's lack of technique means isn't comfortable on the ball under pressure, and who can't see or play any kind of incisive pass is crippling. It's pointless. I'd rather have Onomah, hell I'd rather have KWP or ay number of kids we have who can play football in midfield areas, in that position, players who are comfortable on the ball and can move and play it under pressure and are progressive too.
What did he really bring today ? Did he help protect Aurier - not much, they had their best chances when Auriier fucked up. Did he create anything ? Fuck all. Did he help us transition quickly ? No, because he doesn't see or do anything instinctively or with slick technique.
The only thing Sissoko does is run at people, and in a game where there's no central space to run at people, what's the point ?
After 70 minutes maybe we could have took Son/Kane off, brought Davies or Trippier on to play in midfield and pushed Sissoko up to run at them on the counter but we didn't and he effectively contributed nothing that any very ordinary player couldn't have contributed, busied about a bit, got a foot in occasionally, played the odd perfunctory pass.
Tripper has much better ended product than aurier thoughWhy does so many people have the opinion that aurier is a better defender than trippier?
Spot onBut that's the point isn't it. What about the continual waste of forward situations. Trippier is vastly better in those areas, and if we are not even getting the compromise payoff of Aurier at least being better defensively then what's that pay off ?

A few of you will likely laugh at this, but you can see a little of Beckham there, no real pace, but the ability to pick a pass and cross a ball onto a sixpence.
I think he’d be mustard at rmf.

Aurier's mistakes were in open play when he had 2 dreadful passes picked off. Zaha has turned Trippier inside out in the past.
Do you remember what Zaha did to Walker at WHL a couple of seasons ago ? Or what he did to Rose today late on ? Zaha running at anyone can do that. As long as we have bodies back and aren't giving the ball away, and it was more then twice by the way, with everyone up field like Airier did we should be OK.
I said this long before we actually signed him but Aurier is effectively just Walker at the same age and development stage. maybe in two years when Poch has worked on him he'll be doing less stupid stuff, just like Walker did, but I'd have much rather spent this two years developing KWP who doesn't do much stupid stuff now, and he's what, 4 years younger?
That is so not true, Palace could of had 2 goals and they put us under a lot of pressure in the second half.
Not to sound like a walking cliche but those wins are so important for a good season.
You're not always going to play Madrid off the park every week but to win with so many injuries, virtually away from home and with all our rivals playing each other
Fuck it I'm buzzing COYS
