Pleased to see our boys pulling out of the England squad with what are hopefully minor knocks.

It's the sort of thing other big teams have been doing over the years, and I'm glad we're now in a position to do that (i.e. in terms of our players putting us first, and Southgate having to keep Poch on side).

Great time for some of our players to have a few days of extra rest.

As long as they're ok, it is fantastic. Two weeks to have Dele and the Harrys getting some man to man from Poch and putting their feet up.

Jim White bitching on Twitter about Poch withdrawing the two Harrys lol.

They have actually both been carrying injuries and whether good preparation or not them to be available for England they are friendlies and we need them for competitive matches.

We've always been good at releasing players as well when they are fit.

What a clown! Their injuries happened in a live game too so no controversy about them being unavailable- everyone saw they took a couple of bad whacks.
And why does he care anyway, he's Scottish!!!

Yep, Kane has clearly not been 100% and better for England in long-term that he is able to have a much needed rest and hopefully clear up any niggles.

Winks also has just come back from a long-term injury and is very young still and having gone off injured in our last game again needs to be treated carefully and not over-used.

It's not our fault more of the other teams in the league can't be bothered to nurture English talent like we do lol :p:p

The top 20 ranked teams should not have to qualify.
Or worst they go straight to a 2 leg play off.
So perhaps this year we would have played Slovakia or Scotland.

Rather than this being unfair, I think the underdogs would have a better chance to get through.

I think we really have made it as a BIG club.. First we scrape a 1-0 win when playing shit then we withdraw key players from meaningless Friendlies!!

We still have three more players in the squad than Arsenal!!

Well, there's good news, and there's bad news.

First the good news: There is a real possibility of doing away with the friendly international games.

Now the bad news: FIFA are talking with EUFA and other Confederations about a new Nations league and expanding it into a global competition.

Not sure what that's got to do with our injuries but cheers for sharing

Yeah you can’t have that be 10 games in a summer lol .Basically there’s no need for these friendlies 8 months before a tournament,it’s just money making for FA.These 2 weeks could be pushed to January and have a winter break.Friendlies are fine in build up to tournament. But utterly pointless now.

The reason why they have made this an international week is due to the play offs. I agree that it means a lot of players will play extra games, and it’s a shame the FA didn’t just decide on having one friendly instead of the 2. The other annoying thing is this would of been the best time to give out a lot of new caps to players that are possible additions if the main squad has injuries leading up to the tournament.

Hopefully Southgate will try out some different systems to experiment for the WC. Just hope Trippier, Rose and Dier are not over used and come back healthy

I didn't think that was a possibility, I thought that was an actual thing. I like the idea TBH
