Assumptions in advance:

  • Lloris, Vertonghen, Winks, Dele, Kane will be fit.
  • Vorm and Toby will be injured.
  • Lamela will be bench ready.
I think for the England lads, the knocks have come at a good time, chance to miss the international break, recover a little and not miss any for Spurs.

Hopefully Toby isnt too long away. I'll wait and see an update of players post internationals before committing to a potential XI

As futile as this may be with the injury situation, I'll go with this for now:

Gazzaniga
Sanchez Dier Verts
Trippier Dembele Winks Rose
Eriksen Kane Dele

Bench: Lloris, Foyth, Aurier, Davies, Sissoko, Son, Llorente

I had a nightmare last night that we lost 1-0 and Tripper scored an own goal. So I'd be tempted to play Aurier for this one.

It's lucky that the England team are playing Tuesday so they get back to training a day earlier. My main concern is Eriksen because he's the main man for Denmark and is the only one playing in serious games.

Lloris (Vorm); Aurier, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Davies; Dier, Dembele; Sissoko, Eriksen, Son; Kane

Reason for Aurier/Sissoko is the pace/power offered in Kolasinac. We need guys like Sissoko who can match that power.

Like Liverpool, Arsenal are powderpuff in central midfield and I think we could get at their porous defence and smash them on the counter at the Emirates. For that reason I'd be looking at playing a similar team to the one that smashed Liverpool.

Lloris
Sanchez - Dier - Vertonghen
Trippier - Dele - Winks - Eriksen - Davies
Kane - Son

Gazzaniga - Aurier - Rose - Dembele - Sissoko - Lamela - Llorente

Cruel timing with the NLD next up.

Really hope Lloris and Dele are available, I doubt Alderweireld will be.

Sissoko starts for me though, think of a wrecking ball in a glass hut - that Arsenal midfield and back line is so brittle. Big lad will drive right through it.

Son, albeit wasn't great today, but we should be looking to tear Arsenal a new one on the counter.

Cruel timing perhaps but would've been a lot worse without the international break. Would've been no Lloris, Toby, Jan, Winks, Kane or Alli.

We should play our normal high pressing game against them, they have never been able to cope with it which is why Wenger has never beaten Poch as a Spurs manager. Put Sissoko on Xhaka who panics in possession and is ponderous on the ball and we will eat them alive in midfield.

Need Dembélé fit for this one, he usually dominates the midfield vs arsenal in recent years
