One of the few players we have that will look to pass it first time at pace whether in to feet or round the corner, and then go on a burst for the return.

An attribute that is greatly underestimated, especially when teams come to park the bus.

Very easy to forget what an asset he is given his time out with injury - hence why opinion is a bit polarised.

I'm guessing the issues with his current fitness are more mental than physical. It's a hard obstacle to overcome but my guess would be that he has until summer to work things out and start getting back into competitive condition. I hope he's determined enough to do it.

IF he can regain his fitness recovering both mentally and physically I think he'll be very well suited to 3-4-2-1 as would allow him more freedom to roam a little more centrally.

Would be a very good addition to squad as would give more options (Sissoko shouldn't be played further up :eek:).

That is true positionally but compared to a 4-2-3-1 it also means less opportunities to play

I remember his debut where he came on at the Emirates. He looked quite bright in that game and I’ve always wondered if he had connected with that half volley towards the end of the game how different his first year might have been.

Anyway, if he comes back fit as per the 14/15 season he’s a great addition to the squad.

Lamela is an example of one of those players who becomes better and more important the longer be is out. Give it a few more years injured and his stint with us will be remembered like the 2nd coming of Maradona.

I don't believe he will ever play for us again but even if he does I don't think he will be half the player most seem to think he is. He has goods technique and is tenacious but is one paced and can't beat a man. He needed to find a yard of pace even before the injury so what is a year out going to achieve?

I'm really confused why I keep reading you and others say you don't think the guy will play for us again - what are you basing this on? Seems odd considering Poch has said many times that he's close to being ready to make an appearance for us.

Eriksen's pretty one paced, Alli is pretty one paced.

Oh and as for can't beat a man, Koscielny says hi...

Can we add him to our CL roster for the remaining group stage games, or do we have to wait until round of 32.

The exception does not make the rule.

Basing it on absolutely nothing apart from gut feel. Tis the way of the internet forum.

Spot on. Before long people will be saying he has the potential to be more important to Spurs than Kane.
