Edit: A Spanish ref? Who the fuck decided that one? They fucking hate us and we've just been slogging it out in the group stages with them with no love lost. Stupid bloody decision.

Sweden could easily have had 2 penalties as well. He's a shit ref though, always thought it when I've seen him in the CL

Indeed, 2 handball shouts that could easily have been given. You're right, this ref is appalling. His decision making has been all over the place, very inconsistent.

I think the size of the stage is in the refs mind. He doesn't want to "decide the match" with a penalty but it means he's deciding the match by not calling them.

In between players at the moment. Youngsters are not quite there yet. Doesn't help that the coach, Ventura, is a donkey who should be managing at a 2nd or 3rd tier level but somehow has the job.

Having Spain in the group was just bad luck. Didn't play bad against them but they are the better side still. Sweden have done well so far and are a bogey team for us. Not surprised to see them holding us.

Can't believe it's taken Ventura this long to finally play Jorginho, when it's possibly too late. He's been excellent. Great passer.
