Do people really think Real Madrid, the biggest club football team in the world, have a substandard training and medical team?
If Bale is getting injured a lot it means his body is prone to injury. This is Real Madrid folks. Most players go there and get stronger, fitter, faster and better.
They're not a two bob outfit rushing their star player back too soon after a cold wet sponge slapped on the bollocks.

He must have earned his coin now, can't think he'd want to be on astronomical wages. He's got to be happy if we offer him 100k a week.

Was part of the deal with Real that we get first refusal ?

Was it not something along the lines of we can match best offer received for him.

Sounds a nonsense in any case. Surely any club could in theory match a bid if they are in a financial position to do so.

Yes it might be that the agreement states we have to be notified of offer amount. But the press usually have the figures on the back pages for all and sundry in any case.

He's on €600K a week. That's a hell of a pay cut

We have 72 hours to match any offer which RM finds acceptable and if we decide to do so RM have to sell to us, even if another clubs comes in with a higher offer in the meantime.

There was a £10m sell on clause as well, but that expired in 2015.

The contract between the clubs doesn't make clear what our obligations are in relation to arranging a contract with Gareth Bale himself. It says that Real Madrid and the player have agreed to the arrangement though, so one would have to assume that in order for it be enforceable we'd at least have to agree a contract with GB and at worst, have to match the contract offer of the club originally offering.

Yeah, £350k per week AFTER tax. I'm pretty sure the salaries which are quoted for our players are before tax, so Harry's £100k p/w is actually more like £53,205... there's no way Bale, or anyone for that matter, is going to actively seek to leave the biggest club in the world AND take an 83% pay cut in the process!

"Pay pay pay look at Bale's salary look at Bale's salary" :banghead::banghead: Have you guys got nothing better to do than just go on repeating basic and banal comments about salary?

Gareth is an amazing player and truly one of the most talented people I've ever seen wear the white shirt of Tottenham, but I really can't see Levy paying £80m for a very injury prone 28 year old who will demand at least £200k a week in wages. It makes no financial sense.

Dropping £10m per year salary, I very much doubt that.

I'd love it, but it's a financial risk we can't afford to take.

He'll go to Utd, which will be sickening.
I don’t even think it’s a financial risk. With the new stadium online, the marketing possibilities of Bale and Kane together are endless. He’d make us a load of money off the pitch.

A lot of medical and conditioning care comes from information provided by tne player though. If he’s hiding things because he’s so desperate to come back and prove that he’s not a crock, it can lead to more breakdowns. A vicious cycle, if you will.

Where are you getting this from?
It’s human nature - he’s been under immense pressure over there for over a year, the politics of that club, and the fact he still doesn’t speak the language, and is seen as an outsider, all factors that could lead to him making irrational decisions, in trying to fight for his future there.

If I was paid that much I think I'd get quite a few injuries as well barring my massive wallet around. It would be really unbalancing!

It's not just the money Bale would be getting though. They might not be making noises about it yet, but I can assure you the second Bale signed you would have a queue of agents knocking down Levy's door insisting on double our money contracts. It's not so bad when they are all getting relative parity, but no way would they sit back and watch a player earn more than twice what their players were getting. No chance whatsoever.

you have to look at their training methods if this is true
None of their other players seem keep getting broken from Real's training methods.

Isn't that expected to happen anyway when the new stadium opens? It's not like it would be a secret that the club would be making more money and therefor have more money to give out for contracts.
