It's not just the money Bale would be getting though. They might not be making noises about it yet, but I can assure you the second Bale signed you would have a queue of agents knocking down Levy's door insisting on double our money contracts. It's not so bad when they are all getting relative parity, but no way would they sit back and watch a player earn more than twice what their players were getting. No chance whatsoever.

None of their other players seem keep getting broken from Real's training methods.
Well unless Levy hands out new contracts next summer bringing them in line with other top CL stars then we’ll be losing them anyway. Apart from Kane no-one could argue for parity with a three time CL winner anyway.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned, but could we not just give him a huge signing on fee and then give him a weekly salary comparable to the top earners at the club?

Isn't that expected to happen anyway when the new stadium opens? It's not like it would be a secret that the club would be making more money and therefor have more money to give out for contracts.

I'm sure many of them will be getting much improved contracts, but Bale would command huge wages if he were to move. I'd be amazed if we were even considering it tbh.

Levy could be cute and fund Bale signing through our sponsors. I'm sure Bale is still a pretty big draw and very marketable for big companies, so why not approach AIA etc and get them to part or fully fund transaction.

Would rather get them to buy us Pulisic.

If Bale loves and wants to come back to us enough then maybe he'll be happy to earn less than the going rate. He is after all an incredibly rich man now and perhaps wages aren't as important as we might think? Clearly, this is a very stupid and naive thing to say.

Would love to see him back.

Don't think I could take seeing him play in a United, Chelsea or Liverpool shirt.

Agreed.
Sometimes money really is not the be all and end all. Gareth Bale has won everything in Spain and Europe (that matters) and has been rewarded, very handsomely.

IF he moves back to the UK from Spain, then it will purely be on footballing and family location reasons. Now he MIGHT fancy Manchester United, because, in spite of recent turmoil, it is still a big name and well, looks nice on your career history (unless you are Moyes), but it is equally not inconceivable that he might simply want to come back to Spurs. After the mixed reactions of the fickle RM fans, he might want the love he would undoubtedly get by being back at Spurs. Plus we are a Spurs now firmly lodged at the top, he might well see himself as the missing link to tip us over the winning edge, so to speak.

So, whilst I would say it's unlikely, it would be awesome and perhaps not entirely unrealistic.

From a very good source....

"The Bale back to Spurs rumours are exactly that. Rumours and nothing more"

Yeah I do not believe he is in a rush to move back to the UK and even if he does he will have plenty of suitors. Plus we also know Real Madrid will ask for too much money, which I believe would be a bigger stumbling block than wages.

Either way, I never believed this was really going to happen, but it's nice to speculate.

He’ll be at United within 24 months and it’ll be sickening to see him in their shirt.

Hard to disagree with this, even if I think re-signing 'this version' of him wouldn't be the most prudent way of spending our money.

Well, as Giggs was his hero, it wouldn't surprise me at all. And given the wages Ibra is meant to be on, I don't think that would be a stumbling block either for them.
