Rashford doesn't know how to make a forwards run at all. When he needs to set off and give the man on the ball something to hit he doesn't do it.

There's lots of negativity on here, but I'd say that it's been a very positive week for England. We've had a few young players come through for their debuts, we've held the world champions to a draw, and now we're holding Brazil. If we can play the top two teams in the FIFA rankings and avoid defeat it should give us a bit of a confidence boost ahead of next summers tournament.

Kane, Alli, Dier, Rose and Winks look like nailed on starters in the World Cup.

Trippier is also a better bet than Walker as a wing back. His first first touch, passing and crossing are superior to Walker's.

While Brazil shit on us from a great height technically, I think with our best 11 this defensive system actually gives us a fighting chance against better teams.

Replace Vardy, Livermore and Lingard with Kane, Winks and Alli with Lallana and Sterling as options from the bench and we can cause teams some serious problems on the break.

I know what you're saying but in every game he's managed Southgate seems to have set up not to lose rather than to win. He needs a full strength team in the next friendlies for sure.

I don't like Dier playing in front of a back three. And the problem is compounded putting Livermore there next to him.

Bar the back 3 who defended well, it was a terrible performance.

That was poor for Abraham at the end. He actually pointed for it to be passed where Walker passed it but then decided to run near post.

That seems to be the nature of International Football these days though. Just look at the World Cup play-offs this week - there were hardly any other goals in any of the matches (bar Denmark).

If we had Kane, Alli, Lallana, or Winks in there we'd be much better going forward.

I can get behind what Southgate is doing or trying to do, make us tough to beat whilst being defensively solid and let the match winners Kane and Alli win the game at the other end, I think he deserves some recognition in calling up and actually playing the likes of RLC and Gomez, when we get the likes of Kane, Alli and Lallana back plus Winks in midfield then suddenly we look a whole lot better and there's a something to work with.

Dier's had a poor night tonight.

I hear he's gone to the police station reporting that he went for a jog in the park and got mugged.

Hopefully saving his energy for the Emirates...

Yay, we can grind out draws against big teams in friendlies.

All we have to do is do that in the World Cup and we can take them to penalt.....ah shit.

I really hope Southgate keeps going with this, it’s been so bad with tournaments, just let the youngsters play, get experience and let them show us what we can do.

Makes you wonder why in this country these kids cannot get a game.

Makes you realise just how important Poch is to the England game really.

think my team would be along the lines of:

gk: pickford

rwb: trippier
rcb: jones
cb: dier
lcb: stones
lwb: rose

dm: winks
rcm: lallana
lcm: alli

ss: sterling
st: kane
