They did beat Portugal once as well. I reckon we’ve done well getting the Danes. By the sound of it Eriksen dragged them through.
To be fair it wasn’t just Eriksen being the difference, we fell far short, but what a player.

Cheeky bid?

Oh yeah...

Denmark were shockingly good tonight. Quality all over the pitch, which I didn't expect when the draw was made.

Disappointing result, but the better team won, and it wasn't close. We were a sad, sorry shambles. Got what we deserved, and that's the harsh truth.

Destroyed :(

Good luck @RickyVilla, or rather ‘enjoy’. That’s all we wanted to do...
It'll be a case of that.

Denmark don't stand a snowballs chance in hell with this squad, but it'll be a great journey for them.

I secretly feel bad for Ireland (apart from McClean, he's scum), but good luck to Denmark going forward.

Funny how the Irish tv guys prayed to get Denmark in the draw. Then Dunphy saying that Denmark were an awful team and Ireland should beat that lot easily. He then rambled on about his lovechild Wes Hoolahan.
I sat thinking has he seen Eriksen play he can be a game winner, but he must know best he gets paid for his opinion......

Eriksen takes apart the very best teams and I really expected him to be the ultimate difference. Obviously the score flatters Denmark somewhat as Ireland had to chase the game but you can't give Eriksen any time on the ball around the box

That Denmark team are a good little football team, playing a much better brand of football under the new coach, with some decent players down the spine of that team, Schmeical, Kjaer, Poulson, Christensen, and in Eriksen, one of football's most understated talents. Really impressed with them tonight, and with the marginal exception of Italy, all the teams that went through the play-offs were by far the better teams.

I didn't really want Eriksen working this summer, but to see and hear (post match) what it meant to him and how impressed I was with this Denmark side, I'm pleased for him and them that they are there. It's fitting that a player like Eriksen gets to have that on his CV whilst at his peak. What a performance from him, but also great performance from Denmark coming from a goal behind away from home under huge pressure.
