Not looking good for either Toby or Hugo (Vorm out too), so here's my team for Saturday assuming they are both unavailable:
Gazzaniga
Sanchez Dier Jan
Trippier Winks Dembele Davies
Eriksen Kane Alli
Subs: Austin Foyth Aurier Rose Sonny Llorente Sissoko
COYS!
Spurs twitter says Hugo is in full training.

Bah Toby out til after Xmas. Big blow...

Yeah not great but Dier will slot in which means it's imperative that we manage the fitness of Dembele and Winks properly, the good thing is that our only tough games in that period are Arsenal and City away and the Dortmund where we don't need to win anyway.

Nervous about this one, massive if we can win and Leicester take something off City which I think they might.
Funnily enough, I don’t feel nervous like I normally would. Like last year when we beat them, I was so confident before the game. I know it’s at the Emirates, but we are just so much better than them. Would be disappointed with a draw.

Toby being out is a blow. But what a fantastic signing we have in Sanchez! Our defense is still as strong with Dier there. COYS!

This seems most likely to me. I think we can impose our 3-4-2-1 on them more than they can on us...I'm not sure if they go with 3 or 4 at the back anymore. And with our bench looking stronger these days, there's always the opportunity to bring in the likes of Son and Rose to change the dynamic as needed.

The way City are going at the moment, every game is a must win. Hopefully Leicester can cause them some problems by hitting them on hte break, but it seems unliekly. It'd be a big blow if we don't beat Arsenal and put even more daylight between them and us.

Choice to be made between changing formation or dropping Dier back. I’d be equally happy with any of these:

Lloris
Sanchez Dier Vertonghen
Trippier Winks Dembele Davies
Eriksen Dele
Kane

Or

Lloris
Trippier Sanchez Vertonghen Davies
Dier Winks
Eriksen Dele Son
Kane

Or

Lloris
Trippier Sanchez Vertonghen Davies
Dier
Winks Dele
Eriksen _________ Son
Kane
Personnel wise the only major difference is Son v Dembele, the choice comes down to whether we want to dominate the ball or play on the counter.

lloris
sanchez vertonghen davies
(aurier or trippier) rose
dier (dembele or winks)
eriksen dele
kane

Basically would bring Rose back into the team, would prefer Davies as CB over Dier, Dier always has one mistake in him and does better in midfield, would be harsh to drop Davies now Rose is back and he is pretty solid at CB.

Dier has been absolutely outstanding at CB recently.

I think Dier is as good a CB as Alderweireld these days. The only problem is cover, especially over a bananas December fixture list.

Dier is a CB 99% of the time. I would rather bleed Juan in the backup CDM role as his technique is better than Dier. Dier is an elite CB and could become a World Class CB for years if he just makes up his mind that he is best suited for CB.

Sonny has been traveling all over the planet during the break and just played a full 90 on Tuesday. I don’t think he’ll be available to start this match.

Lloris
Dier Sanchez Vertongen
Aurier Dembele Winks Davies
Eriksen Alli
Kane

I like Aurier over Trippier in this match. I think he’s better equipped to deal with Lacazette and Sanchez. I have no idea if he’s available for selection though.
