No fight, no balance, no passion, no passing. Only one team seemed to realise it was a derby. We had one player who showed up. No contest - MoM Davinson Sanchez.

Sanchez MOM. Prefer to see him in the middle. Alli was really poor. Needs to stop falling over and get on with playing the game.

Ashamed of them, looked like they believed their own hype, played as though they thought they could show up, stroll in first gear and have the points handed to us. But for Sanchez and Vertonghen we lose that game more heavily. Two shit goals, both offside and the first was never a free kick but we deserved to lose this game regardless.

Lloris could have done better for the second, just stand tall and it doesn’t go in. Managed to follow this advice second half in a similar situation.

Sanchez was fine, got us out of jail a couple of times.

Dier was sloppy and marked poorly throughout.

Vertonghen saved us on numerous occasions, deserved better from those in front of him.

Trippier put in crosses consistently but nothing purposeful. Caught out several times second half.

Sissoko was the only midfielder/ attacker to show any endeavour or determination but the quality, as ever, wasn’t there in the key moments.

Dembele was fine when he had the ball, if perhaps a bit less dependable than usual, but he was just chasing shadows off the ball.

Davies was okay going forward, putting in some decent crosses, but defensively he was exposed a lot in the first half. That said, he was offered very little help.

Dele was just terrible, everything he did was bad, on the ball he was clumsy, off the ball he was invisible.

Eriksen, well that was dreadful from him. Used all his ability up for Denmark it seems, bottled every challenge, played bad passes only.

Kane was terrible, no zip, no instinct, heavy touch. Fit or not, that was not even close to what we need from him.

Winks came on, plodded, passed backwards and wasted possession.

Son could have go us back in it, he ballooned it.

Llorente is beginning to concern me.

I dunno. I'd thought we'd really turned a corner with the performances against Dortmund/Real x2/Liverpool. Against good opponents we were learning how to sit in, stay tight, and counter ruthlessly.

That should have been the blueprint for today, we all knew Arsenal would come at us, they had no choice with the crowd at the their back. But for some reason we just neither played attacking or defensive. I've got no idea what Poch's instructions were, and it's not very often you can say that.

We were poor from start to finish. Frankly it could have been 3 or 4 . In the first half we created absolutely nothing and in the second we were unsurprisingly caught on the break several times. Our top players didn’t show up. Dembele looks a shadow of the player he once was and doesn’t deserve a place in our starting line up. If he is not fit then why play him ? Personally I didn’t see that Kane was injured. He was just poor. Worst of all our intensity for a NOD was way below theirs, especially in the first half. I don’t know how Pochettino can say he was proud of the effort from the players.

I agree Sanchez was by far our best player . Sissoko looked good because the rest were so poor.

Lloris 6 , Was slow reacting for the second goal, but kept the score relatively respectable in the second half.

Dier 5 not great, good header could have brought us back in it

Sanchez 8 outstanding. Ridiculous free kick decision.

Vertonghen 5 not one of his better games

Trippier 4 zero attacking threat first half, caught out of position several times in the second.

Dembele 3 very poor

Sissoko 6 tried hard

Eriksen 3 very poor

Davies 5 same as Trippier in reverse but did put in a couple of useful crosses.

Alli 2 worst player on the pitch , deserved to be taken off. Should be left out for lack of commitment.

Kane 3 very poor . Didn’t look unfit to me. But taking him off was like throwing in the towel.

Winks 6 Neat and tried . Should have started.

Son 3 Probably that’s unfair because he wasn’t that bad and had one goal bound shot blocked , but that miss was so frustrating. Should have been 2-1 at that point. Nevertheless should have started.

Llorente 3 laughing and joking with Arse players at the final whistle showed how much he cared. His flick on for Son’s miss one of his very few contributions all season.

Dannythomas-1 . We have never lost to them when I follow the match on line instead of watching. Poor decision making by me today.

Was it down to lack of fitness of key personnel? Poor mentality? Maybe just purely outfought and outthought by Arsenal/Wenger?

Most probably a combination of all three but the overall result was just unacceptable in a derby match and whilst we can arguably grumble at some dodgy refereeing decisions, most notably the free kick leading to the first goal, we can't possibly argue that the best team took all three points today.

As others have alluded to, Sanchez was the only player to come away with real credit.

General musings;

- what's the deal with Rose because I think he would have made a huge difference in his attitude to this game compared to Davies who was uncharacteristically sloppy and positionally exposed down the left flank.
- Dembele is not the man we need in a fast and frenetic match with the game just bypassing him
- The front three were all well below par - Eriksen with a Danish hangover, Kane not at the races and Alli, well, back to his frustrating worst
- Llorente a shadow of his former self who's offering so little off the bench in either attitude or application that we might well be looking at another forward come January.

Pochettino - Genius
I can see what he's trying to do there, he's giving this game away to ensure Wenger continues to destroy Arsenal from within. Genius!

Lloris- 7 Could have been 4-0 down, thank you Captain
Tripper- 1: One game and it gets in his head. Where's Aurier please?
Dier - 6 When is Toby coming back
Verts -6 No longer possessed
Davies 1 - What the fuck happened to the defensive side of your game?
Dembelee 7 - Best player on the pitch, shouldn't be taken off
Sissoko 7 - need creative players to complement his Zokorasque abilities
Eriksen 5 - Tried his best, not given the ball when he's in space. He can score goals but 2 greedy players up top.
Ali - 5 - Feels like Son, giving the ball away so many times, but he does get in good position, the other players need to pass to him when he's in that position. Seprately, guy needs to stop clubbing, fitness is a doubt.
Kane - 5 Greedy is his name, tries too hard? or too selfish? Put the team first?
Llorente - N/A : poor guy, just because he's tall people pass long. He's SPANISH for ....sake, play the ball to feet!!!! he will bring others into play with his hold up...TO FEET you fucking cowards!!! to FEET!
Son - N/A - Typical Son he's not an impact sub, either start him or leave him in London!!...oh wait..
Winks - 5 Good technical skills, but please PASS FOWARD, we are 2 - 0 down!!!

Overall Team play : - What a wank fest !!! Our attacking play is Impotent! Too many cowards who only opt to play safe.
We can not string 3 forward passes and it's got nothing to do with Captain's distribution

The problem was our three most important attacking players were below par. Most of the others played well I thought- partic Sánchez, Vertonghen, Davies and Sissoko.

......

This is totally disrespectful and not acceptable -
Llorente - minus 100.

Mike Dean - minus 100
Dier - 4 often just doesn't get off the ground - not a good trait as a centre half.
Kane - 3 Analyse your performance in this game with your mate Henry next year before the derby.
Dembele, Sissiko - 6 Played well
MP - 4 Normally he recognises how important these games are, but his team lacked desire today.
Sanchez - 8 MOTM obviously.

Llorente has been a pretty pointless signing so far. We needed a back up striker who was 100% trusted to be able to start games. He didn't start when Kane was injured v Utd and didn't start when Kane was about 50% fit today. I know Kane is Kane and we're not going to get someone same level to fill in but if can't even have someone trusted to do better job than state Kane was in today then what's the point of having them.

We needed to buy someone who would definitely start today and be trusted so Kane could come on later in game. It's so early days but its not been a very promising start and it's starting to feel like we still desperately need a back up striker who Poch finds impossible to not trust.

There's no guarantees with any forward. Soldano, Janssen and llorente all ticked the boxes before we bought them.

Sanchez - 7
Jan, Dier, Trips - 5
Lloris - 4
Davies, Eriksen, Kane, Dembele - 3
Sissoko - 1 mark for putting his boots on.
Alli - 0

Lloris should have at least dived for the first and jumped backwards for the second.

Alli was atrocious.

Sissoko wasted every half chance he had by running past the ball, miscontrolling it or passing it to no one. Ran in straight lines fairly well. Shame it's a ball sport.

Kane not fit.

Davies had his pants pulled down all game.

Eriksen was awol.

Poch way too slow to make changes and his continued faith in Sissoko is laughable.

Thoroughly deserved beating.

There is no such thing as a 100% reliable quality player who'd be willing to be a back up to Kane, and wouldn't want be paid £150k to do so.

I genuinely cannot believe anyone is choosing today to have a pop at Sissoko. He and Sanchez were the only ones who turned up. Arsenal were simply much better than us, blaming Sissoko is just lazy

I didn't see that, should be bombed out of the squad and sold just for that, not an acceptable attitude from a Tottenham player, EVER.

re: Sissoko. We know what he is at this point. It's basically like putting Lebron James on the pitch. Not Lebron if he played football, but Lebron straight from the Cleveland Cavaliers onto the pitch at Wembley. He can't play football for shit, but it's a lot of fun to watch the terror on defenders' faces when he gets moving. If we made a highlight reel of all of his touches today, then cut off the last second and a half of each of his moves, we could sell him for 80 million in January.

The criticism Sissoko has been getting is harsh as he was after Sanchez probably our best player out there. Therein lies the problem from today's game....Moussa Sissoko being a standout.

If you're to rank our player's ability Sissoko would be near the bottom. He's not a bad player but just in our squad very limited and doesn't have a set position. So if a player from the bottom is ranked near the top for a match it's clear to see why we were completely outclassed.

Players like him have a purpose and he's done well this season but to give you a comparison - if Marouane Fellaini is Man Utd's standout player against Man City then I expect them to have lost that game without much in way of quality.
