I'm not sure you'd get any of those for £30M in today's market but I accept your point. I still feel that if we have a full squad of fit players (in particular Toby - to free up Dier, Dembele (who looked crocked today to me), Wanyama and Lamela we don't play Sissoko in any important games at all. In fact without Sissoko I'm not sure who would play in midfield with our current injuries - Eriksen with Son further forward?
Agreed.
On current form - you'd have to put Son on ahead of Dele.
God - to have a fully fit squad - what a blessing that would be. It would change everything!
To have Wanyama, Lamela, Toby, Rose, Dembele all back to 100% - it's a different story isn't it?!
I thought Winks should have started today - he's earned it.
There's so many cracks in our armour at the moment - it's hard to debate it all!

I don't think this Arsenal team is capable of playing better than they did today.

We absolutely know that Spurs are capable of playing far, far better than they did today.

So yes, fair play to them, they did what was needed. For a variety of reasons, some avoidable and others not, we didn't. A frustrating-as-shit result for us that probably makes no difference in the end.
This is the sort of result that gets them going again and I wouldn't be suprised if the edge us out for fourth spot yet again.

What is the incident you refer to?
In Guardian:
Sky Sports are reporting that the Spurs full-back is fit but has not been included in the Spurs party that travelled to the Emirates. Instead, in a move that suggests he has displeased his manager in some way, Rose is back in Tottenham’s Enfield training ground working with other players who are not involved in today’s game. “That will not end well,” says Sky pundit Graeme Souness.

Always disappointing to lose to Arsenal and it’s easy to be knee jerk when summarising the match but overall I think we were unlucky to come away without anything. You expect the home team to have periods of dominance in the game and sure, Arsenal had those. But we also had periods of dominance and we had some good opportunities to score. It came down to a number of refereeing decisions which went against us. Both the goals were offside and I think there was a penalty on Kane which wasn’t given. Once you go 2 goals down away from home it’s very difficult to get back in the match but we gave it a good go and had the ref made the correct decisions we could be coming away with the 3 points.

Utterly deluded post, we were outclassed from start to finish, even without their goals they played neat and incisive football, the most we could conjure was a few hopeful crosses into the box. Compare the performances of Ozil, Sanchez and Lacazette with Kane, Alli and Eriksen, it was chalk and cheese.

Unimpressive performance.

Top players looked out of sorts and injuries being factored in they looked toothless for the most part. While we're at it, while Sissoko is still Sissoko Ali shouldn't be clear of any criticism, his league form is fucking shite at the moment. Brand Ali needs a wake up call, doesn't matter who is whispering in his ear.

Gonna be a scrap for the three places behind city it looks like, this year, time to put in another shift.

Flip side, people can say don't focus on the Ref and his assistants, but lets face it, everytime someone sneezes in a football match and Wenger is on the wrong side of that sneeze he is the first to be whining like the **** that he is. The decision Dean gave against Sanchez was a major factor in the outcome of this match, and not that me moaning about here changes anything, but let's not down play it. I suppose people will say they all balance out come the end of the season, yeah most likely.

The media and all that guff is easily ignored, I just hate Spurs losing and this one always stings more.

Onto Tuesday I guess.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino tells Sky Sports: "It was an even game in terms of shots on target, off target, possession. I am only disappointed because the effort was massive from the team. It is obvious you saw what happened in the game and the small details were against us, it makes it difficult to win. I am very proud with the effort.

"I do not need to say anything, it was obvious for everyone here and watching at home. It is not easy to accept because we lost the game but we have to more on and keep going.

"The free-kick for the first goal and the first goal was obvious offside, maybe the second was too. When you play against a team in the top-six, the big details are up to you, sometimes things go against you but that is football. Against Swansea, it was the same Mike Dean too.

"Granit Xhaka should have had a second yellow card, sometimes you feel disappointed and frustrated because the small details change a lot.

"Harry Kane and Dele Alli were OK to play but with 15 minutes to go, it was not necessary to take risks. We had few chances to score in the end.

"I made a technical decision on Danny Rose, after months out they need to get back up to fitness. The situation is not an issue."

Llorente offers absolutely nothing. He even seems to avoid aerial contests. I counted once, when he actually flicked the ball on to Son. But the real problem was we seriously missed Toby's composure and passing.

Also, Arsenal worked out how to stop us..... they stopped Trippier from overlapping.

Seriously, they were literally blocking his running line to stop him from trying to go forward. I'm sure Wenger planned that. It seemed they let Davies have the ball and cross it often, probably because his crossing is no way near as accurate.

meh. poor decisions are part of the game. had Mustafi been 6 inches back and onside he still would have finished that. oh well, its done.

But that's he was bought for, direct running and breaking the lines. His confidence is improving and with it his touch. His positional sense is very good. There was a breakaway created by him and in the end he didn't pass to Eriksen. I wondered why he hadn't passed, but he really didn't take up a position and Sissoko was waiting for him. The problem was that Eriksen kept up with their back line, which means that you have to delay to ensure he's not offside.
I didn't say you hadn't criticised Kane and Alli, but Eriksen has to impose himself if he is to be considered in the top tier. He's like Ozil in that respect.
Oh Lordy - please do not compare Eriksen to Oil ----Jezuz - I know we're all in shock and pissed off but that is a step too far! ;-)
Eriksen was our supporters player of the year last season and for a reason. Maybe he was bit knackered today - most of the team were running at 80% - but he is class and 9/10 you'll get 100% from him and the running and closing down that goes with it.

Look - I get what Sissoko can do - but I feel we need better in that department - he does break the lines, he is direct - but he doesn't have the vision or quality to do what needs to be done at the level we aspire to. That final ball - when he has broken the lines? It never comes - because he simply doesn't have the technical ability to do it. To hit a killer pass, beat the last man, take a decent shot - he can't do any of those. We need better. I would have loved Salah, I said it years ago when he failed at Chelski - in today's market? We've failed with N'kou and we've let Clinton N'Jie go - who is on fire for Marseille now ( 9 goals in 25) - we just haven't nailed that pacy break away position. And now our wing backs are slower than Rose & Trippier - we're lacking any sort of pace.
Personally - I'd buy Zaha or maybe Richarlson.

Don't tell @StartingPrice He still thinks we can win the league laughable I know bit as I'm not allowed to mention city, all I will say is that the team that plays in sky blue shirts and are based in the North West will win it(y)

You sad twat! That just makes it sound like you were desperate for the cheating Goon ****s to win so that you could jump in with this shit. I am disappointed with that loss, very disappointed and all you can think of doing is putting the boot in that are slim chances of winning the league are probably (not definitely gone)* - I think that is worthy of the DISLIKE I have given you - go on a little revenge neg spree all you want. You fucking deserve that. And for the record, my first comment was going to be that even if we beat City home and away our chances are very slim now. Anyway, my not very bright fiend, I'm you can have a problem with me all you want, I'm not going to have a problem with you because I am just putting you on IGNORE - I won't miss your miserable comments, they are hardly laden with intellect or insight, anyway.

*Oh, and for the record, because you seem to be struggling with this, all I ever said was that we had a slim chance and no-one should be saying it is all over and done and dust until they know that it is. And that is, actually, still the case. I doubt anyone will catch City now, bit that doesn't mean they definitively won't or that that club definitively won't be us. It jsut means it would be very very very very difficult. But, there again, for anyone with even basic reading comprehension, all I ever said was City were clear, clear favourites. I know this is a cliché, but you seem so enthusiastic to be proven right that maybe you should just go and support them.

Those quotes worry me from Poch to be honest. Hopefully it was lies to media cos how he's sees that as an even game is beyond me. Proud of effort too, nothing to be proud of today we were woeful and he needs to see that so he adjusts things for next huge away game.

Lol. It won’t get them going again. I think, this is what I meant when I said Arsenal are the new West Ham. This is their cup final, at home they were always going to raise their game against us. I fully expect to beat them at Wembley.

But it wasn't surrising as our record and performances away at those big clubs is frankly appallng and we are still a long way off from being a title challenging team.

Anyone think Son should have started instead of Kane or Dele? I know there would have been some uproar with that but it really didn't seem like those 2 were fully fit. At least he should have been brought on after 10 mins of the second half.
