Can’t believe poch did change to a back 4 and move dier into midfield after the first 39 mins. It was clear we we being out fought in midfield and needed reinforcing.
Poor alround really but I’m especially pissed off with Lloris, another big game another mistake.
I question his mental strength as he lets us down in big games time and time again

I don't think Lloris did much wrong, to be honest...were it not for him it would have been worse.

The first goal was in the top corner, I don't think any keeper would have saved.

The second, he moves to his right anticipating a first time shot which you would expect and instead Sanchez controls and manages to squeeze in at the near post.

I think the players who disappointed were in order Alli who just passed the ball to an Arsenal player every time we were in a good position, Kane who was anonymous and couldn't hold up the ball or win a header, Eriksen who just didn't do anything and then maybe Dier.

The rest I thought were adequate but not much more, except for Sissoko who was the only player to do anything positive.

We didn't match their workrate, which is what really disappointed me. Kane not being 100 per cent affected our ability to press from the front as well, the whole tone of our work rate was off today, and Arsenal found it relatively easy to win the ball back, very disappointing.

The other big problem, and it wasn't just down to their pressing, was our inability to keep the ball well, our passing was off, be it forced errors or unforced, it was rank.

Kane clearly not totally fit, took in age for him to get out of his feet but the two biggest disappointments were Deli and Eriksen. Everything the former did seemed to put us in trouble, and when is Eriksen ever going to grab a big game like this by the bollox. Love him as a player but he doesn't have shrink in these big away games.

I think the front three set a poor tone for the rest of the team. Movement and passing was poor, thus Davies and Vertonghen constanty playing chip and hope and coughing up possession.

Off the ball we were out fought, simple as that.

Sanchez was immense though, kid will be the best CB in the league in a few seasons.

I thought we were 'arriving' on the big stage after the two games against Madrid and swatting Liverpool aside.

But after United away and Today we arnt there yet. We're still making great strides but Pochettino needs to use today as a real example to the players that there's much work to be done, much of it mental application, before we're really ready to be taken seriously as one of the big dogs.

I expect a serious reaction now, and trust Poch will get it. Lots of points up for grabs before City, we should be looking at getting all of them.

Yep agree with that, but we've still got CL last two years running even while losing these sort of games so I don't think too much can be gauged from today's performance...Harry doesn't look quite there, Eriksen looked shot due to internationals and Toby missing all played a part today I think.
I'm over it, just gotta dodge all the muggy Gooners I know for a few weeks now!
Will also do my best to side step them for a day or two also.

Poch said, "I feel very proud of the team and thought it was a fine performance.”
I'm sorry but that is bollocks.
He may be saying that for the cameras but I don't believe for a minute that he really thinks that performance was fine, he is probably saying something completely different behind closed doors and away from the media

This hurts. Last few weeks have been so up and down for the emotions. The Madrid result was great but getting in the ear from West Ham and now the scum hurts

How people don't appreciate this and still get wound up over comments to the media is amazing.

Sour grapes really. Not only is it not really true, since as you well know, we have won once at the Emirates and have only beaten Arsenal away from home once in something like 20 years, it is also irrelevant since that is another game gone and another 3 points out the window irrespective of what might have been...

Its not about being sour.

This Arsenal team is way worse than the teams they had five years (or more) ago and our current first eleven is better than
the recent previous Spurs starting teams.

Today, they deserved to win and I'm not arguing with the result. Their players were more determined to win the loose balls. Unfortunately, it wasn't the same for most of our players that played today.
Our midfield was also poor. Our attackers looked tired today.

We had a horrendous run of games with international break as well. Think we were running on empty today.

Those quotes worry me from Poch to be honest. Hopefully it was lies to media cos how he's sees that as an even game is beyond me. Proud of effort too, nothing to be proud of today we were woeful and he needs to see that so he adjusts things for next huge away game.

I doubt that was his response to the players.

Too casual today, from word go. Arsenal were better in every department, especially effort and application of game plan.

That hurt.

Davidson really is something else.
Dembele in this form was a bad choice. From 2 minutes onward It was evident that Winks should of started. Dembele really needs to up his game or risk being left behind. Looks good in possession still but really hurt our play. He needs to be 100% fit or is pedestrian.

I understand the chance being taken on Kane, he's our talisman. But was clearly off from. 'The bat'

Davidson easy man of match.

  • The ArseAnal players wanted it more (anyone who says otherwise is self-deceiving)
  • Kane was clearly not 100%
  • Dele got into good position three times early on, tried to elaborate and gave the ball away. Too busy trying to elaborate and never properly in the game.
  • I have defended Llorente, in that he was injured and didn't have a pre-season but today was a day when we needed a viable alternative to Kane and maybe bring Kane on in last fifteen if needed. Llorente wasn't a viable alternative. He needs to be soon or someone else does.
  • It's great when we see the best of Son. Today we say the worst of him. Two fifty/fifty challenges he wimped out on. Two good chances he failed to stay composed for.
  • The officiating was awful. After Swansea, I am seriously thinking now that Mike Dean has let the claims that he is a Spurs fan get to him. The FA need to deal with this - he specifically indicated that he had seen Sanchez pull (Goon) Sanchez's shirt. Not once in that move did that happen. He either imagined he saw it, or he made it up! And why wasn't Xhaka sent off?
  • The two goals were offside. But tight calls. Sometimes they go for you sometimes they don't. Defending was poor anyway.
  • We seem to have a problem coming back after international breaks.

Shelfboy68 likes to be negative.
Not negative sir just stated the facts that we are shit against the big sides in these sort of games, I never hide from the truth and we were shit today got nothing again similar to the Utd game.
Never mind we still have city, Chelsea and Liverpool to play yet away let' see how many points we will get there I'm saying 1 pt if we are lucky.

2nd goal was definitely a mistake imo he was in the net before the ball was

Sounds like you want us to lose to be proved right. We have improved against the other big teams around us over the years. We regularly beat United, Arsenal, City, Chelsea. Away, last year, we drew most of them (I believe?). This is the first win Arsenal have had over us in what 3-4 years. You only get 3 points away to these teams, no extra special points. The title can still be won (theoretically) not winning away to these teams and doing well at home. The rest of the games - which is the majority of teams left in the Prem - are as, in fact probably more important to win, something we have improved on since Poch has been here.

Please don't go on about the odd defeat to a lower team to prove that we haven't improved. There are some fans that think we should be winning every single game, never lose at all. Because when we do lose a game, they crawl out of the woodwork and inform us that we're s***, or we're never going to win anything. We have every reason to be positive for the future, we may not win a title this year or a cup. That's just the media pushing that narrative. We're building for the future, which takes time and is a slow burn.
