We can beat anyone on our day. City? Well, we just beat a Madrid side that contained at least 5/6 players that would walk in to the current City side, even with how well they are playing.

Their spending? It’s 100% relevant to any success they might or might not have. When money is no object, it really makes the game a lot easier. It’s a completely different game we are playing and given the amount of money they spend, they should win the league every single season and it be seen as a failure if they don’t.

They are playing some lovely stuff but again, so they should be. It’s rrally not that difficult with the players they have. Pep and his fanboys can dress it up all they like. The greatest managers of all time generally say the same thing, it’s a simple game. It’s made even more simple when you have KDB, Jesus, Sane, two Silvas, Aguero, Sterling and co to pick and choose from. Hardly groundbreaking.
As much as it pains me to say it, Wenger producing similar football on a strict budget and clever player trading at the scum was way more impressive.

Splashing the cash is relative though.

City cannot be compared to us, Everton or Liverpool, well anyone, bar United and maybe Chelsea, but even then they don’t go to City’s lengths.

They spend £50m per player on 4 different players and give them all £200k a week. That’s hugely different to one £30/40m fee and £120k a week.

I meant 'wise' in terms of the identification and securing of targets. In previous seasons they've spent shitloads but on clearly unsuitable personnel. And that is a legitimate comparison with us, Liverpool and most certainly Everton when we've all splashed the cash.

How difficult is it to secure targets with unlimited money though?

I love that this thread exists. And has done for the last 2 seasons. But most of all I love having the opportunity to legitimately post this at every step of the way.

Well, we prefer to chase it seems, so 11 points behind already...and counting!

It's in the bag lads! No worries!

I've been a touch dubious as to how much of a challenge we put up in the last two years, I know no such challenge is taking place this season. We'll be 18+ points off City by the time the season ends.

We need to open a race for top 4 as that is what we are in and any fan who does not believe this is dilluded... we have a big battle to get top 4 this year and I think we are going to struggle and this is not knee jerk reaction, to equal same points as last year we need to win 22 of our 26 remaining games.

Should now be amended to the Race for the CL thread because the battle for top four is very much on.

Yes we won't get the points total of last year that's for sure and we have lost 3 games now which we had up to the may of last year when we list to west ham no surprise.

As I said a while back we lost the title when we dropped points home to Chelsea, Swansea and Burnley whilst man.city won game after game. 2 pts from those 3 Home games is not title challenging form especially because we will not gain those points back in the big away games e.g. away to man.u and arsenal , case in point.

Poch is doing amazingly with what he has but sorry, we just aren’t good enough.

Said this for a while now. On or day yes but consistently no.

Shit day, not only did we lose to the Woolwich scum but ever other team around us won, I fully expect Man Utd to win also.
