sadly not there yet financially.....but here is a positive spin.
Am pretty sure Glazer Utd would swap Luke Shaw (with a payoff to get him back to a normal wage) and 40-45 million for Danny.
Really believe Maureen wants him and wants rid of Shaw.
If we get a deal like that and, as @Hercules has suggested, we bring in the Sessegnon boys and Sancho (25/30 million + 20 million), we will be in decent shape.

There is a difference between selling the Walkers and Rose type players to Manchester v the "family silver" which includes Dier/ Verts/ Toby/ Sanchez/ Alli/ Kane/ Winks/ Wanyama/ Eriksen....

Besides, with most of that group (apart from Dier possibly) the risk of being turned is limited to Barca and Real.

Doesn't matter if he's the family silver or not. We would be greatly strengthening another rival, weakening our squad, lessening our chance to win.
I don't care if it's Luke Shaw and cash, mourhino and United still come out smelling of roses... Fackin literally.
We must stop selling to rivals, it's small, and it's keeping us small.

Look at Man City, wouldn't even sell us a youth player

Agree mate. It’s pretty depressing really. Poch is trying so so hard to squeeze everything out of us but our players and squad just aren’t as good as man.city,Chelsea and man.u. We are about the same as lpool and arsenal, suprise suprise the two teams who spend similarly to us on transfers and wages. And suprise suprise the top 3 is: city utd and Chelsea, the 3 richest clubs.

It’s fucking boring. Today was a shit performance and result but for sure football is and has been becoming less and less enjoyable due to the money side of it.

really so you were enjoying being a tottenham fan more 10 years ago than you do now??

Blame the TV Companies and Billionaire Owners for the money issues not the the players. if someone gives you the chance to secure the financial future of your children, grandchildren and even extended family you would take it..

It`s November no idea who will be in the top 3 yet... Poch used the wrong tactics today he didn't respect Arsenals attack and we paid the price.. Against Liverpool, Madrid and Dortmund we played deeper and played on the break don`t know why that was not the tactic today. He should have changed the shape after 20 mins but didn`t react.

I also think our players were jaded and lacked sharpness

Man city would not even give us an academy player .. why would that be different for us ?

Don't think my heart can take another transfer window of selling a first team full back and waiting until the last minute for a replacement

My take: Rose is a wonderful full back. At his best he is slightly better than Davies. However, he doesn't want to be here. He obviously has some issues. Get a good fee through gritted teeth. Get Shaw (subject to medical) who obviously idolises Poch and move on.

No don't see a reason to drop Davis. Roses need to prove he is worthy of the fist choice slot.

He will start mid week thou.

No one has a clue what's going on and that includes the bloggers/supposed itks yet they're spouting bollocks like they do.

We need Rose just like we did Walker but chose to sell him to a direct rival. Walker has fitted in seamlessly at MCFC just like Rose would at MUFC, why on earth would you sell him to them when we're supposed to be challenging them?

The fans slagging off Rose need to get a grip. YES his timing of his outburst was wrong last summer but essentially what he was saying was correct. Pretty much all of us say the same on here daily ffs. Until we start winning trophies, and paying wages similar to LFC/AFC, our players will always look to move on.

I applaud everything MP had done for us so far & his desire to win the big trophies but completely disagree with his attitude to smaller cups. We've not won a cup in a decade come February and that's poor no matter how you look at it. We have had the last decade teams good enough to win the odd cup, especially the last 2 years, but always found a way of eliminating ourselves. Until this changes the likes of Rose/Dier/Alli/etc will be tempted away. Only MP can change this...

Agreed. Aside from last two sentences. Doubt very much that any of Kane, Dele, Dier are going to stay on the strength of an FA cup or Carabao winners medal. Assume the manager knows this too, and partly informs his approach to these competitions. Also think it's fallacious to imagine winning either of these is going to inculcate a winner's mentality, and act as a springboard to greater things. Utimately, we need to be going (with a realistic chance of succeeding) for the league and CL every season, and pay them appropriately. Appropriately is key for the club unfortunately, and may mean we never get there.

That is a bit of a stupid point really because what I said was that football and the premier league is less enjoyable because of the money situation, not that watching and supporting tottenham is less enjoyable.

Of course watching us is more enjoyable because we play better football and win more games and are now a top4 team, but if we were as good as we are now 10-15 years ago, we’d have won a title in the last 2 seasons, im pretty certain of that and that is what is depressing in that we are squeezing everything out of the resources we have and overperforming against where we should be and still it looks like we will yet again season after season come no closer to winning anything. But we’re going in the right direction and the new stadium should be amazing so we’re doing all we can we just need to be patient, it’s just unfortunate that football has gone this way.
