Last post on this point.

I would agree if Mustafi was well behind the line when he headed the ball thus gaining a big advantage by being offside.

In this case Mustafi started half a foot ahead of Dier and was inline with him when the ball arrived, thus I don't think being stood in an offside position initially helped him score the goal or get to the ball ahead of Dier in any way.

If Dier had tracked the flight of the ball correctly he would have beaten Mustafi to it.
Good points to be fair, but they don’t detract from the fact that the goal was an “illegal” one. Whilst there were errors in the lead up to the goal, the DECISIVE error was from the official.

Nah sorry, people complain about changing the mentality of the club and that comes down to the fans aswell. Be negative after the game if you really want to but that is such a defeatist mentality to go into the NLD derby with

It's not 'in the trenches bollocks' it's that that mentality is toxic and if you have 'no confidence' in the team, yes maybe it's best you don't take on the job of supporting them in such a big game

Also saying you have 'no confidence' in us in big games is just stupid. I presume you thought we'd lose to Madrid twice, Dortmund, Chelsea, united and arsenal at last season and Liverpool this year?
My support is not question from the likes of you but as for did I expect us to lose against these sides the answer is yes away from home, your throwing in home games and clouding the issue but again nothing to do with the fans the support yesterday as always was great nothing to see there.

I belive we will win 99% of our home games. I thought we would draw with Real Madrid.

That mentality you speak of will change when our away form against these teams pick up. Personally I have confidence that we can pick up a draw in those games.

I don't know mate you will have to ask yourself that question my make up is to hate losing yours maybe different and that is fine by me (y)
I tend to hate losing to, but you have stated that you thought we were going to lose yesterday before the game started ... On that tip, the poor performance can't have come as a shock to you ... (y)

Absolutely away from home but then our record is so shit it doesn't need pointing out but yes expected the result anything else would be a bonus, still not going to argue anymore it's pointless a bit like how we ended up yesterday.:p

Have to say regarding the match, Arsenal played it like a Derby.......we didn't. On the plus side some Arsenal fans wanted us to thrash them so Wenger would have to go, well you have him now for another year and a half.

Winning against the big sides away isn't vital, amazing what a red herring this has turned into.

Overall, home and away, our record against the top 6 is decent, that's all that matters. Everyone has just focused in on one aspect that we need to improve on and blown it out of proportion. Next it will be that our away record on saturday lunchtimes when the weather isn't good is the problem

Also other top 6 sides, united and arsenal, have bad away records against the top 6, top 6 teams should win at home. I expect other fans and journos to go on about it but our fans buying into this red herring is frustrating
I think you are missing the mark a bit here. It's not vital to win away vs. top 6 to stay in the top 6. However, most fans these days aren't pointing at this weakness in the context of being a top 6 team, but in the context of launching a credible and actual bid for the title. To win PL, it is in absolute terms important to be a team which can show up at any stadium in the country and with overwhelming likelihood win.

He's throwing in home games and skewering your arguments, which is just not fair. We can and do play well away from home, such as at The Bernebau.

He's not missing the mark. The point is not losing away from home, a win being a bonus.

I have to say that the result in Madrid was a complete shock because I expected us to lose in fact I think we caught them out as they probably expected us to lose also.
No doubt it was a great result would love to get results like this more often, no one expects to win all the time but we rarely win any of the time in fairness.

It is, for being a top 6 team. For being a title contender, "win at home, draw away" is simply not good enough. However, we are not even drawing that often away vs. top 4 at least.
