Agreed. Aside from last two sentences. Doubt very much that any of Kane, Dele, Dier are going to stay on the strength of an FA cup or Carabao winners medal. Assume the manager knows this too, and partly informs his approach to these competitions. Also think it's fallacious to imagine winning either of these is going to inculcate a winner's mentality, and act as a springboard to greater things. Utimately, we need to be going (with a realistic chance of succeeding) for the league and CL every season, and pay them appropriately. Appropriately is key for the club unfortunately, and may mean we never get there.

Very good points and post however I’d argue that an FA cup win would probably convince any players who were thinking of moving to stay as that is one of the 3 major trophies you can win, behind the CL and league. And I think I’m our case as were building a long term project, to just say that this group of players has one something, anything will get the monkey off our back that Tottenham still fall short on the big occasions which quite frankly we still do.

Sky never mentioned a falling out at all. Just that he was fit but wasn't in the squad.

Imo if it wasn't for his injury he'd of gone in the last window. Be amazed if he is still here to start 2018/19

Hmm. If we sell Rose to Utd in Jan it's a massive kick in the teeth. I thought it was bad enough selling Walker to City and this will only further cement our reputation as a feeder club. Two of the best full backs in the premiership sold to rivals within 6 months? Not very encouraging IMO.

I'm honestly starting to question if I can be bothered with football if this is true.

Wow so we are going to sell league's best 2 fullback and still call ourselve not selling club lol
Every club’s a selling club. Players now want to leave Real for more money. It’s the world we live. Hard work, loyalty no longer exist (very rare) in football any more. Once upon a time it was about the club, the team. Now it’s about the individual, how much they can earn elsewhere. It’s not just Tottenham.

But not to a domestic rival.

So what would you suggest, just keep a player that is going to throw his toys out of the pram every time he can't get his own way? He is a £60mil asset that we can't afford to just let rot in the reserves.
