Soldado scored a hat trick yesterday #justsaying

But yeah it's weird, I was quite happy with this signing as a plan B, but whenever he's on the pitch we don't change our approach at all. Why buy a plan B striker if we only have a plan A?

Soldado came on in the 60th minute too. His first was a bicycle kick in the 6 yard box. Janssen had a good game, was more agile than I remember, looked less bulky. Maybe the Turkish food doesn't agree with him.

He has been terrible for us. No getting away from that. Its like if we are throwing in the towel when he replaces kane

Everything i've seen of Llorente coming into games is summed up in your second point IMHO.

I appreciate in certain games we don't have to change the approach, so i get that we stick to playing a certain style, just with fresh legs up top instead. But when we're chasing a game, surely the directive needs to change slightly? Especially when the man you've just brought on offers a solid aerial threat.

I'm not for one minute saying that everything then goes long (which turns possession into a 50/50) but why aren't we whipping a few more balls in from out wide with him on the pitch? Why not try and play the odd ball up to him and work from knockdowns/flick ons? Seems daft to bring him on if we don't change up a little, in order to play off of him.

I would have preferred to see Llorente start against Arsenal, given just how unfit Kane looked. I think Poch took a huge risk with his longterm fitness. Let's hope he got away with it.

So far this season, we would actually have benefitted more from Llorente staying at Swansea, so he could contribute to taking points off other teams. :(

I still rate him as a striker, however I think, yet again, he is completely the wrong type of striker we need. We need a fast (or at least one that can run rather then jog) player who is decent with the ball at his feet and can fashion a chance for himself out of nothing, not a slow Target Man. Worst thing is he hardly gets in the box when he’s on the pitch, he’s always dropping deep or out wide, which is clearly what he’s told to do as he never did that for the Swans. His signing feels very much like we left it too late In the window (yet again) and thought we could kill two birds with one stone by buying a striker and steeling a player from Chelsea. Nobody seems to have actually sat back an thought for 1 second how he would fit in with our set up. If we don’t come up with tactics that suit him we may as well sell him for what ever we can get for him and start the search again.

If either Kane or Eriksen had put away the chances against Madrid then I think people may have a slightly different outlook, likewise the chance for Son on Saturday was a lot easier than what is being glossed over. All came from Llorente knock downs which is basically his game these days.

When you play one up top, and that "one" is pretty much world class, you're always going to struggle to find a similar back-up. Going with someone who's familiar with the premiership, has bags of experience and has played at the highest level seems pretty sensible. Not ideal, but sensible. And as we saw on Sunday, if Kane can stand he starts.

Anyone who saw him last year against us at WHL should of been worried by this signing. He literally didn't move that day. One of the laziest and uninterested CF performances I can remember seeing. All I remember him doing was going up for one header. I can't believe anyone in the recruitment process at spurs could of seen that performance and thought he could be a useful signing.

I think people just get happy with any signing on deadline day but it was never the right signing for us. Maybe its because he's a character poch likes but from a footballing point of view, strange.

You gonna ignore the 15 goals he scored last season for Swansea who were by all accounts dog shite then, or just focus on one match?

Give him balls to attack and he'd score goals. The link of him and Trippier should be a marriage made in heaven. Yet we always seem to hesitant to get the ball to him

Yes, to be honest. I maybe focusing on one match live (I've seen a handful of games on tv as well) but your just focusing on the goals coloumn and aren't looking at attributes to fit the team. it's not just about scoring goals it's general play, work rate, bringing others into the game. There's been a lot of players who have scored more than 15 goals in a season who couldn't do the job for us. Would you want Defoe back leading the line. I'd rather someone who'd only score a couple a season but works his bollocks off, brings others into, good mobility etc.

Didn't we try that with Janssen?
