Lloris
Aurier - Sanchez - Vertonghen - Rose
Sissoko - Dier - Winks
Alli - Llorente - Son

This or a 4-2-3-1 version would be useful. Alli needs to play his way out of patchy form. We can't carry him while Kane isn't 100% and they looked off the pace against Arsenal. Kane needs rest and recovery, Alli needs confidence.

Given the insights on Dortmund's form in this thread, there's no reason we can't pick something up here and stick to top spot in the group.

Hard too put a finger on what’s gone wrong latlely, but I miss the spark we had almost every match last year- is now more and more gone missing IMO.

It’s not that, that we play shit (except sometimes)or something- but the little extra spark that got us dominating every team, bar the result, seems to have vanquished.

For me, this is the perfect opportunity to get the enthusiasm back.

Full strenght please, but not risking the overplayed or injured ones.

To be honest mate no WHL I would say largely contributes to that. Away from home we've been pretty damn good minus United and Arsenal.

...play the kids and the 2nd stringers, which should include Winks and Davies at this point...

Foyth should definitely start this game but I think he should also start against WBA (who will park the bus like no team ever has considering their form/Pulis).

If Wanyama isn't back any time soon we need to get Foyth ready because we can't go into away games without a proper DM again.

It needs to be Dier and Winks or Dembele and only way to do that is either Foyth or Davies play CB. Don't ever want to see this nonsense tactic of one CM who isn't a defensive mid up against multiple players and Sissoko playing some bizarre right wing centre mid running up and down that section of pitch position.

Hooray. Those who thought he was one of our better players against the Arse need to remember this below!

Tough call for this game.

On one hand its the champions league and we want to finish top of the groupl plus every player is going to what to play as this is the crème de le crème (ooooh fancy!) of competitions for a footballer.

You have players like Dele who are a bit up and down but thrived in the Champions League so you wonder if playing would give him another confidence boost.

You have Kane who should be playing in the best competitions like this but he just hasn't been able to regain his fitness and sharpness in last couple of weeks. Same with Winks who seems to be struggling for fitness.

We do seem to be struggling with injuries in several areas at the moment.

Probably best to go with back four as allows Dier into midfield and we can partner Sanchez and Vertonghen as a strong centre back partnership - I like the team @jolsnogross has posted above.

We can’t put out a complete second string because we’ll get thrashed, but we’d be absolutely crazy to play a clearly injured Kane in a match we can afford to lose.

Play Llorente and Son and actually get Trippier to use his greatest asset and actually play to Llorente’s strengths.

My XI :

Lloris
Foyth,Sanchez,Vertonghen,
Auriee,Dele,Winks,Rose
Son, Kane,Llorente

Rest Dier & Dembele. Play Kane & Llorente upfront with Dele in CM & Son in a floating role.

Foyth Sanchez Vertonghen
Trippier, Dier, Winks, Aurier/KWP

That's not fair. Its a squad game. They all have to have patience. He's still young and is ahead of schedule in his development.

I understand asking for patience but hes 20 now and needs to be playing to improve in my opinion.couldnt have done much more when he played at the start of the season.if he cant get any match time in what in effect is a dead rubber not much chance of him getting minutes this season.

Did we though this time last year. Our champions league campaign last year was dreadful, and we weren't much better in the league, but we picked it up eventually and now everybody remembers how we played in April as indicative of our form over the entire season.

I think Poch will pick a strong one tonight. They wouldn't have all travelled if he didn't. Think he'll want to send a message to the players. Which will mean playing full strength but drop some of the guys who aren't performing? Maybe play Alli as I think the guy needs to play his way back into form.
