Poch has been outstanding with a weaker squad than all our nearest competitors. All of the other top 5 teams spend between £100m and £150m MORE than us on wages. Equivalent to 10 players on £200k per week more than us. It is not about transfer value but wage spend in my opinion. We are amazing.

We needed to play this same formula against the likes of chelsea, arsenal, united no matter home or away ..
We beat all 3 of those teams at WHL last season by dominating the matches. Was the past tense "needed" in your post not what you meant?

Burnley 1-1
Swansea 0-0
Bournemouth 1-0
Palace 1-0
WBA 1-1

Quite an incredible set of results.4 goals in 5 games against this dross and failing to score more than 1 on 5 occasions. Poch has had 5 games to sort this out and is still no closer to doing so. Surely it’s time to think outside the box and do something different. Everyone one of these games we’ve started with a back 3. Clearly it’s not working. Even maybe throw a Marcus Edwards in the mix a player who can dribble at tight defences. Just do something, try something different.

No plan b. Doesnt even have one on the bench. Saints fans had the same complaints. He cannot change a game if plan a doesnt work. Seems to be even worse this year with the outright negligence not to have a creative player on the bench for these matches and going with 3 defenders normally. His in game management is horrific. Great manager but in game management and stubbornness will continue to hold him back if he cant change.

3 defenders (as you put it) equates to 2 wing backs giving us width and getting forward. The problem is that when teams sit stubbornly with 9 or 10 behind the ball, there's not much room. We need quick, incisive passing to find a way through and players who have the nuts to have a run at their opponent. Instead we tend to go side to side (much as we did with AVB) without any killer passes - particularly when Eriksen is out of sorts. We need Lamela back or even try Marcus Edwards.

If Edwards was good enough I'm sure he'd make the bench at least. But at this point in time he seems he's well below prem requirement.

We'll see if he makes the bench against apoel instead of or along with N'wasteofmoney

Which teams really have a plan B? City don’t, they just play quick passing football that blows everyone away. Chelsea struggle whenever Kante or first choice full backs are out. Liverpool and Arsenal don’t have Plan B’s. United (Mourinho) is the only manager who changed tactics based on the opposition.

What the others do have is options on the bench, not necessarily a change of tactics but a player to bring on that isn’t too much a level below what’s already on the pitch. This is what we don’t have.

I agree sometimes we have too many defensive players on the bench - but who realistically, and who was available, could have been an option yesterday as a forward change?

If Poch had a first revolution by dropping Kaboul, Ade and Lennon, then I think he needs another one by adding a couple young players to this squad. Some enthusiasm and energy would be handy at this point of the season. The next couple of months are crucial and some of our first team look shot.

Lamela coming back will help. Time to get back to an energetic Tottenham.

Needs to work his magic now. A couple of truly pathetic performances recently. Needs a couple of new youngsters to provide competition. Eriksen and Alli especially need a kick up the butt.

Or change the tactics a little bit, depending on the opposition

Has to be bold with changes i'm afraid. No more bottling it. He simply cannot ignore the problems, especially in midfield.

He has either got to give some more youth players a chance or look to address things in the transfer market.

First time I’m starting to doubt him as the players for the first time don’t look fully motivated to play for him.

It’s either this Danny Rose situation

Or that book....

I think it was Foster who said after the West Brom game, that last season they couldn't get the ball out of their own half. The high-press seems to have vanished between now and then.

And I seriously doubt that Sterling could no worse than Llorente, Onomah could do worse than Sissoko (in midfield), Edwards could do worse than N'koudou or Sissoko (on the wing), etc etc... Let's bring some players through.

as much as I like Pochettino, I feel he's gotten WAY too many plaudits for a manager whose next trophy will be his first. all this "best manager in the league" nonsense is embarrassing when you consider the combined achievements of Guardiola, Mourinho, Conte, Klopp, Wenger, and even Benitez. I'm not saying they're necessarily all better than him, but for so many of us to be hailing him as the best when he's not really achieved anything yet is just stupid.

he's done a very good job up to now, but he has to take the blame for the way the squad is currently composed, as well as the way it is being managed at the moment. we've been poor more often than not this season. Wembley has gotten all the blame for this, but that's 3 away defeats now. it's not a Wembley thing at all

this is not me suggesting anything crazy like his position being under threat, but he really does need to show what he's made of now.

I don’t doubt him but I am concern that the players don’t look as interested and up for it as they did last season and the one before.
Are they burnt out, low on confidence or genuinely starting to get pissed off with it all?

Hopefully just the first 2 and once we start winning and mabye rotating a bit it will come good again.

I’d actually start Lamela, Son and Llorente vs Watford, Kane, Eriksen and Alli need a rest.
