Surely Edwards deserves a chance now. There was an interesting stat on sky that we are 19th in passes to create a goal. Where in most passes means 1st(city). More or less confirms we are scoring from counter and long passes. Edwards is ideal for bench in those parked bus games. Yes he can be disappear in games, but invariable he produces at least one moment of magic. If it’s between him and Nkoudou it’s a no brainer.

Who are you taking out to put Edwards in?

It's interesting to see just how good this team is when they focus on the result and look to play well. It does make me slightly frustrated when you compare it to our poor performances in the u23 league and relatively poor performances in the u18 league. I completely understand the reasoning behind moving players around, furthering them individually and focusing on technique ahead of results, which is what is done in the domestic leagues rather than the UEFA competition, but surely there is a limit to how much you do this when at the moment we are seriously at risk of dropping down a division for the u23s (not that I know how significant of an impact that will be?).

I will say I have been impressed with Parker since he has come in, has been getting some good results with the U18/u19 and has them playing some great football as well.

The u18s are 7th in the league but that does not reflect on how well this very young team has done this year, they have lost a lot of games by the odd goal in close matches.

This years u18s could be the youngest we have ever had and as you say they do play good football, I would say they have done a lot better than I thought they was going to do before the season started.

is it fair to say almost all of the players who played today could have premiership careers? It looked that way to me.

Obvious is Nkoudou if he was on bench which has been 50/50 this season. Honestly if we needed a goal I’d rather bring him on than Llorente. In that kane/Llorente doesn’t really work. Or sissoko there’s quite a few options to get him a bench place.

Didn’t realise Maghoma was so big must be 6 1 nearly same height as Austin. Probably good in regards to fast tracking.will be so intriguing who makes the cut from Onomah TOB Skipp Maghoma.Considering winks 21 Dier 23 vic 26. In a couple of years CM area is gonna be very congested. I’d imagine 2 from the previous 4 mentioned will be moved on. And this without anyone we may buy.

He said bench.
Well, technically he said Edwards would be ideal for "parked bus games" - which presumes that you bring him in from the bench - hence my question - who are you taking out - that Edwards will come on for to improve our options?

N'kuoduo Has played in one league match - a 90+3 minute sub for Dele.

He has been a sub in 2 Cup matches, and once in Champions League. None of of those were instances where he was brought on to change the game.

Give those minutes to Edwards, and what is different?

yeah, that game didn't do much for the sancho's on another planet to edwards narrative. didn't get why he was taken off, he actually started the 2nd half pretty poorly pissing the ball away a few times but then suddenly he just clicked and absolutely took over the game for about 15 mins ... then he got subbed.

anyway, excellent performance all round.

Funny. Prior to the summer no one had heard of or watched Sancho. After us pursuing him and people posting comps, all of a sudden he was on a completely different level to Edwards. As City aren't great at bringing through youth Sancho had an excuse why he wasn't with their first team, however everyone assumes Poch would play Edwards, so if he isn't, it must be because Edwards is poor. Sancho like any young player won't always light up the game the same way Edwards won't always light up the game. Edwards is quality. Pep brought on Diaz and Foden tonight and they're definitely not bigger than Edwards, and we had all these rumors about using youth and ultimately the only academy news was KWP was removed from the squad.

Hopefully Edwards will appear against APOEL but considering Poch and everyone believes pressure minutes are best, and don't see the benefit in coming on in pointless matches, I can't imagine him giving any young players a chance in a dead rubber, but I hope he does.

Who do we think will get the chance against Apoel? I unfortunately don’t think Poch will play as many youngsters as we think/want. I hope KWP, Tanganga, Bennetts, Edwards, Shashoua, TOB, Skipp, Sterling gets the chance

0-0 70 mins.

Edwards in for sissoko dembele Son would all be reasonable shouts. Even go to a 4 and take off a CB. There’s loads of ways to get him off the bench if Desperate for a goal.
