I think some celebration is to be expected after 16 years of getting smashed...

Anyway, I’m not trying to have an argument, just a comment that Lyons is talking a lot of shit for a scrote, that’s all.

It's why I both loathe and admire Lyon in equal amounts. He is a very, very average bowler who was somewhat of a joke when he first came on the scene as just another long line of spinners trying to replace the irreplaceable in Warne. What he has got though, is an incredible amount of spunk and self belief, which is what makes him worlds apart from Moeen Ali unfortunately.

Finding the trash talk from both sides a bit embarrassing, smacks of two average sides hoping to get one over on the other through shouting the loudest rather than the cricket doing the talking. Warner having a go at Stokes as well seems completely pointless, he's not even out there.
Warner might not be either! Injury scare today.

Neither was i my friend. Just a bit of banter. I expect there will be plenty more. :)

Yeah I'll be up, it'll be interesting to watch BT's coverage and compare it to Sky, who are (IMO) really good and have commentators who know the game very well and they get it across in an interesting g and entertaining manner. IIRC BT got Swann, who bores me rigid (and who I think is an utter **** for the way he quit) and Pietersen who has the charisma of a turd floating in a swimming pool so I'm not holding out much hope. Pontin is OK though.

Thing they have Vaughan too, who is good imo.
Totally agree regarding Swann, complete bell end irritates me when he is commentating on the radio

See the Aussie players are playing up to type with being as smug, arrogant and obnoxious as usual .

I've never seen so much shite spouted before the start of a Test Series. This is more like a boxing promotion. Smith saying that facing Starc and Cummins in the nets is scarier than Johnson. What an absolute **** of the highest order.

French cricket playing, shite technique flat track bully ****. Fuck off.

Aussie media has been the biggest problem. Hyping the players up way too much. Just wish everyone would shut up till after Perth to be honest.

England team: Alastair Cook, Mark Stoneman, James Vince, Joe Root (capt), Dawid Malan, Jonny Bairstow (wk), Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, Stuart Broad, Jake Ball, James Anderson.

No surprises at all, but you read the batting line-up and realise again how much you want Stokes to be in it!

Hopefully he makes me look stupid, we must have better than Jake Ball though surely? Any time I have seen him, any format, he looks distinctly average.

Would be Wood but he's broken. Finn also broken. Personally I don't understand why Plunkett never gets a look in, seems perfect for Aussie pitches and a different option to what we have.

There for bounce and bounce alone.

Could be effective as long as his line is good.

More worried about Malan, Stoneman and Vince, at least one of those needs to turn it on otherwise it's gonna be a struggle.

You just know we're going to be 33 for 3 at 01:00 tonight.

Only thing about our bowling is a severe lack of pace, even those that burst onto the scene as FAST bowlers (at least to the captionists at Sky) soon get downgraded when they're consistently bowling at 82mph with the odd 88mph thrown in for good measure. Both Wood and Finn were seen as fast originally...

Says a lot that Stokes would probably be the quickest bowler we have if he was out there (shame he is quicker with his fists)

I don't really rate those two either.....

Plunkett just seems to be focusing on white ball cricket these days.

Yeah I can see the theory, but he's never showed anything to suggest he can step up - always seemed a bit of a nothing bowler to me. As I say, hopefully I'm wrong and this is his breakthrough.

They just need to do whatever needs to be done to get Stokes off that charge. The Ashes is far more important than the integrity of the British judicial system.

Lets face it on a good batting track with a Kookaburra that only swings for a few overs, we could struggle to get 20 wickets against any decent batting lineup that can show a bit of discipline and determination (lets hope that's not the Aussie batting lineup ;) )
