just trying to understand the draw for the next round:
1. can't get any English team
2. can't get Real
3. Any other second place team is possible

right?

Assuming the draws are rigged (of course they are) there is no way we’re drawing Bayern. We could easily beat them and UEFA don’t want risk losing the entire German TV market in the round of 16. Juve and their massive fan base much the same. Expect us to draw the toughest opponent that’s not a “big club.” I’d bet on Roma or Napoli.

Roma may end up winning their group though. In which case, Chelski would come 2nd and thus increase the odds of Spurs drawing either Bayern or Juve....

If Chelsea come in 2nd - then we will know for sure if the draw is rigged...

Chelsea would be barred from drawing Roma, or any of the PL teams - leaving their likely choices as: PSG, Barça, or Besiktas - and when they draw Besiktas, then we'll "know"...

Look if we want to win this thing then we have to face a Bayern or Juve eventually so why not knock them out now ? We can beat any side in Europe over 2 legs. Don't get me wrong, i would like an easy draw and I think we deserve an easier game considering finishing 1st in this tough group but we can beat anyone

Really hope United get Real and chelsea get PSG if they finish second.

Hope we get Porto as I'll be able to go!

I think this campaign and the previous one have shown that we raise our game against big European opposition but can't reach the same levels against teams we should be beating. Which makes our performances away against the other top 6 in the PL even more baffling as we clearly can do it in Europe.

Ideally you want to get as far as you can I’d rather take Basel in last 16 and have a glamour semi. A run to the semi financially would be huge.Even getting to 1/4 final could be worth extra £15m difference between signing n’clueless next season or not.

It would also do wonders to who we can attract in the Summer.

As things stand, perfect scenario for me would be:

Chelsea vs. PSG/Bayern
United vs. Real
Liverpool vs. Juve
City vs. Roma (Dzeko and Kolarov to punish City)
Spurs vs. Basel

Although we all know the other 4 teams will be handed bye's and we will play either Juve or Bayern.

Bring it on.

Let’s be realistic, we are not going to win the champions league. The best we can hope for is to get lucky in the draws and go as far as we can

Oh how I would relish watching my United-supporting mates see their team get ripped apart by Real.

We basically have an equal 1 in 3 chance of drawing:

> Monster clubs: Juve or Bayern
> Euro royalty who we'd prob rather avoid: Porto, Napoli Sevilla etc.
> CL second-tier teams we'd prob pick if we had choice: Basel, the Moscow clubs, Leipzig etc.

I think one of the two Moscow clubs would be a shoe in.

Would love Porto though. Wonderful city, fantastic football ground

Let's be realistic we've already beaten the holding champions over two legs. No luck about it.

Whilst it's not likely that we'll win the Champions League, we've proved that we can beat the best on our day so why couldn't we go on and win it?

I don't think anyone is expecting us to win it. But I don't think there's a team in the tournament that we couldn't beat if the stars aligned.

So yeah...we're definitely going to win it.
