I've always acknowledged and appreciated his (Dembele's) qualities - just think he had deficiencies too - and for a team that struggles to transition quickly against bus-parkers I think those deficiencies were under played by many because they like to see a player dribble.

Whatever the debated pros and and cons of Dembele, he's struggled to stay fit throughout his time with us and now he's just plain fucked. Football's getting faster and faster and cleverer and cleverer, he's going in the opposition direction.

Ay-ou-arr (I think??)

I sincerely hope we are not buying him to play there, even in the 3cm system. Better than Sissoko I guess, but then, who isn't? Even as the AM, I'd rather we were a bit more ambitious and went for Fekir, but I'd reluctantly live with Barkley as an AM but for CM we really need to get someone bloody good, as we are very weak there IMO, not another makeshift solution (like Barkley) that ultimately is a fudge.

Barkley wouldn’t particularly be my choice but given his contract situation and our previous interest I think it’s what’s most likely. I think you can forget about us signing anyone from Lyon unless they’re in the last year of their contract, they get top dollar for their players and that’s not how we roll

Wonder if Richarlison already is beyond Spur's budget...
Credit to Watford for "finding" him though.

Unfortunately it looks as if Dembele's injuries are taking its toll. Hate to say this as he's one of my favourites as Spurs. But when a player is constantly prone to injuries like Dembele, it will hold him back mentally. And, particularly, having seen how Rose and Lamela - and on may add Wanyama as well - have been out for a long time it may have affected him even more adversely so mentally. Maybe it's time to sell him while he still have a good value.
Question to those who "know" CCV well: could do a good job as a DM?

I would take him over Marial and other EPL wings. He just has this attitude that I love and after watching 10+ watford games (my second team now because of what Silva has done to that squad), I would drop our Danny money on Richarlison.

I think we could loan them a couple of our youngsters.

I wonder if they would take someone like Nkoudou or Sissoko too.

Does anyone think Goretzka could be a realistic option?

As for Barkley, he's just basically a better utility midfielder than Sissoko. A long way from perfect but he's strong, can dribble really well, decent on the counter and has more end product and technical ability.

IMO replace Sissoko with Barkley, and replace Dembele with a player like Goretzka.

It depends. By all reports he's got Barca/Bayern chasing his signature so it seems unlikely, but I would absolutely *love* him

Definately a player with a big future, but we are so will stacked with yound CB's. Need to focus on creative #10 types players imo.

Although I do agree with you that Spurs are well stacked with young, promising CB... I would not have said no to him. He turned 18 this Juns (born 1999), is a left-footer who can also play LB and is 196 cm tall. Played 10 Bundesliga games for Bor Dor. already.
What a steal he seem to be, joining them on a free from PSG this summer. Wonder if Spurs were ever after him.

If RS's people had any sense at all they'd have insisted on a buyout clause upon him signing that new contract. Monumental cock-up if not because they had the ball firmly in their court at that point.

But he may not be cheaper as his (greedy) agent for sure would want a hefty signing on fee.

Understand your thinking, but we have a couple players that could play the LCB role after Jan in Davies, BLF, Jadon Brown and I think Foyth is technically good enough to play on that side. I wouldnt complain if we picked him up, there's just bigger areas of concern.

I think next season we need to ship out couple of our older players and bring players who have got more thrust , energy and more hungrier than ever ...

If we really sell rose then it has to be for more than 60m+ .. Then use this money to get sessegnon

dembele out , barkley in ..

sissoko out , sign either max meyer or goretzka or someone like richalison..

Next we need to check how much lamela can contribute... If he is not upto the mark , there's no point sticking with him anymore ...

RS a no-brainer for me. Looks an absolutely lovely player. Two of his goals last night were really nice finishes with his 'wrong' foot. If he's doing that at 17 that's a very good sign, and he's a f*cking beast! Have you seen the size of him?

Will be a really good player and very well suited to wing back. Eyebrows were raised when we signed Sanchez for c. £40m but if these kids are good enough then you just don't lose money on them. It's the crazy fees for 28/29 year olds that we can't justify

Especially after what he did yesterday, do we really think we can afford him? Whatever we offer, we'll get blown out of the water by the big money clubs.
