Following his omission from Spurs' squad for the north London derby, Danny Rose has revealed that he may not actually be as close to full fitness as he first thought.

"I thought I was getting hooked at half-time and it gave me a bit of a reality check, maybe I’m not as close as I thought I was."

Maybe, Danny, there are a a couple other things you might need a reality check on where they are not as you think them to be. Just saying.

Agreed 100% Like Rose was 2nd guessing Poch, for not making the team for the NLD.

Ain't these players seen what happened to Townsend.

Since was shown the door at Spurs, has he played for England again?

It the 1st time we saw Poch scoff and lose his cool, when the during the post match conference the reporter asked if Rose was pissed for missing the derby.

Poch was like what? I pick the team, who the hell are you?

What world does this guy live in?

I’ve just read him in the Standard saying he was fuming to be dropped for the Arsenal game. Why on earth would he be in ahead of Davies, who’s been phenomenal while he’s been out and Rose has looked porky and obviously lacking fitness since he’s been back? And why’s he still mouthing off about it?

Now he admits he’s well of the pace - so Poch was right. Just shut up and get on with it. I’m tired of hearing him speak. All talk no action, with an obnoxiously high self regard. Going well off you, Danny, makes me sad. It’s not all about you, your manager knows best

There are very few players who have moved on after Poch- interested to see what happens to Walker long term. Although he can be satisfied with his bank account and being part of a money machine I doubt any great personal improvement will come- unlikely Rose will see this and he could be gone after this season, I personally would like to see Rose stay (he offers a lot more than Davies) and be part of a much greater story.
The new stadium is going to provide a great back drop to the future Poch teams

There is action. I thought he was excellent 2nd half and showed why he is one of the best left backs around.

I'd rather have players that are angry to be left out - it shows they care. And, in a way, Rose needs to come out and talk to the press and say positive things like this because he was vocal in the summer. It's a way of showing publicly that he's committed to the cause.

It's not black and white, though. Accepting what's best for the team over what's best for the individual is also caring. That's also being committed.

I would expect him to accept the decision and be available from the bench.
If he is refusing to play his part as a member of the squad, that is a serious problem, as MP likes to rotate his FBs/WBs.

He didn't refuse to play his part. He just wasn't picked in the 18.

So you missed the bit where he said he accepted the decision?

Saying you’re fuming to the Press about your manager making a fairly obvious decision when you’ve had recent issues with him is unnecessary and stupid regardless even I f you then say you graciously accepted it. It’s just a fucking stupid thing to do.

I think you’re making more of this than there is. The NLD is huge and he wanted to be part of it. In his place I too would be fuming but, in retrospect, I too would accept the decision.
His initial reaction was anger, then he calmed down, thought about it, and accepted. All he did was give the press a timeline.

It’s only those with an axe to grind that find an issue with this. If Kane had been dropped and reacted this way I’d bet my left nut the reaction from the sandy vaginas would be the polar opposite.

I’m not, it’s just what it is. With everything that’s happened, anyone with a brain would just be cool with the Press, let the pressure out of it. First interview back.., “I was fuming....” DANNY!

Stop talking to the Press! They are not your friends, whatever Dave Kidd’s told you. And if Kane had mouthed off to the press then done that, of course I would be annoyed. But he hasnt and didn’t so it’s a shit comparison

And just putting ‘sandy vagina’ in a post won’t make me go “oh what an insult, I’ll change my perfectly understanable opinion”. I’m not 12

It wasn’t an insult, it’s a piss take and a pretty lighthearted one at that. No need to get precious. I don’t think you’re 12 either...

I’d at least put you in your teens ;)

When Davies first signed he did not get a look in at all, except for the europa. But those days have long gone and Davies has more than proved himself in the prem.
Going forwards, I feel MP will rotate both sets of FBs. If Rose gets back to speed, then normally perhaps he could expect to be first choice for the high profile fixtures.
But I wouldn't give him many of those until next season when he has proved to some degree that he still wants to play for the club.
