Hes made 109 appearances since 2007. Im struggling to call him that whatsoever.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danny_Rose_(footballer,_born_1990)

Dean Austin 124, Chris Perry 120, Ruel Fox made 106, Sherwood 93, S Clemence 90

I wouldnt call them good servants either.

Over the past couple of years he's been one of our standout players and has developed under Poch into the best LWB in the league and arguably one of the best in the world. The number of appearences you have isn't the sole factor in determining if someone was a good servant or not IMO. He's been with the club for 10 years but he was out on loan a lot when he was younger because he needed to learn and develop, and he's had a couple of seasons where he's been injured for long spells so that's affected his number of appearences. You may not like him because of his comments but on the pitch he's always given 100%

You’ve gone from being one of the best posters on the site to becoming a proper weirdo lately, it’s like your account’s been hijacked. All you seem to be able to do is randomly dig at people constantly.

Suffice to say no, I don’t want to hate on Rose. I am however surprised at the very vocal support he’s received at games despite his regular outbursts.

This is a surprise to me. It’s not some deeply-buried kernel of burning hatred which I’ll go to any lengths to clandestinely express on the Internet.

Goodbye, sweet prince. I’ll treasure the memories of you being a top contributor and one of my favourite people on here
His “regular” outbursts that tally up to one?

This wasn’t an outburst, it was simply him replying to a question, explaining his first emotional reaction then his thought process after he’d calmed down and thought about it.

The reaction to how he’s worded it is ridiculous in all honesty. He’s articulated an opinion that every one of us would have if we felt we were fit enough to play. He’s reacted like a Spurs fan would if we were denied the chance to play the scum, I’d be fucking livid, but then I’d likely do exactly as he did, after calming down, and accept that the manager was right. He even clarified this, but the full content and context of the interview is being ignored because he used one word that has so many with their knickers in a twist.

As I said in another post, only those with an axe to grind would make such an issue out of absolutely nothing.

I wouldn’t call Gazza a “good servant” he was an amazing player for us but he didn’t have the longevity to be a “servant” imo

His transfer stopped us from going under, doing a Leeds. We had to sell him, it was our choice. He's said his time with us was the most specific his career. And he singlehandedly drove us to the FA cup final, our last major trophy, when it was still a big deal.

Totally agree. But he wanted the move as well it’s not like we sold him against his wishes.
No matter what the reasons he left he was not a good servant because he was only here for 3 years.
It all comes down to your interpretation of the word servant I suppose

Yeah true.

Justin Edinburgh stayed a decade so you could say he was a good servant in that regard but the quality of service, well, to be kind wasn't of the highest standard.

Gazza's tenure was three years but he wore his heart on his sleave and drove us forward like no one else could. The quality of service was off the scale.

Then there's Mabbutt who I guess was a great servant in every sense of the word.

This idea of losing Rose and using the money to buy Sessegnon and everything being fine is bizarre to me. Sessegnon has already been moved into the attacking forward position and anyone who's seen him regularly knows that's where he'll be long term.

He could easily develop into Sane level in that position.

I don't think there's any chance he'd be defensively capable to play LWB in the PL right now. In order for him to be capable it could take years of training and experience playing in that role in the PL, he wouldn't get the required amount of starts because the risk would be too high so his defensive development would stunt.

Unless we're going to loan him to a PL team for a couple of years and order them to play him at LWB I don't see how he's going to ever be able to play there for 30+ PL games. Just look at KWP, Poch could easily have thought forget Aurier I've got him, so why on earth is he going to put a 17yr old who's not even playing LB/LWB anymore in to be a regular PL starter.

Ignoring all that if his future and best position will be left wing/forward why bother wasting time playing him LWB when he's already been pushed further forward now. I'd buy him definitely but as an attacking forward option.

Not a popular opinion, but.....<3 Danny. Busts his ass out on the pitch for the club every time out.
Not sure he does it "for the club" but I winnered it anyway as I agree he busts a gut when he plays, turned into a great left back, amazing turnaround really.

In most games our LB is essentially a winger anyway and part of the midfield. As for his defensive abilities, he's going to have Poch coaching him from a very young age so I'm sure he can get him to be good enough to track back a bit. It's not like anyone's saying he should play as a pure fullback, Rose is basically a winger and he used to be crap defensively until Poch got hold of him. In fact when we signed him from Leeds he actually was a winger and then did a "reverse Bale"

If we sell one of the best player in the league on his position to our direct rival in January we will be pathetic. Selling two best wingbacks in the league in 6 months to two direct rivals and than calling yourself "title challenger" is pathetic. Why are we kicking ourselves in the balls? Oh come on Trix, give us better news :(

I'm not sure what fans expect though. You could say to Rose that he can't join United, City, Arsenal, Chelsea, or Liverpool as they are all rivals, but where does that leave for him to go? Are any of the sides left likely to pay the wages and transfer fee required to make it happen? Would Rose want to go to any of those clubs? He wants to move for three reasons.... to win things, to be closer to home and to earn more money. The best solution for all involved is to sell him to one of the rich English clubs for the highest amount of money so that we can sign a decent replacement and invest in other areas of the squad.

The only alternative we hear is to sell him abroad, but if the player wants to stay in this country then you can't make him sign for a foreign side.

Who would have thought we would end up selling walker and rose, the 2 best wing backs in the league in the same season. Crazy. Im sure all this constant rotation isnt helping either. Walker wasnt happy with it.

Depending on how much we get I really hope poch can get his shit together and sign some quality in the final 3rd. His buys in that area apart from son have been woeful

Simple fact of the matter is that had Danny been playing we'd have broken down those packed defences more easily this season.
I'm not sure about the truth of the rumours and stories about him at the moment but we should do all we can to keep him at the club.

By not playing him, is hardly the best way to keep him happy and motivated and not agitating for a move.

Pretending we didn't want him anyway, the same nonsense we did with Walker, so some of the morons on here can pretend we haven't cut our nose of by selling another first teamer to a rival and weakening the team and squad.
