It’s about combinations and systems. City have a shitload of creative and technically brilliant players. We only have one really.
Eriksen would get an absolute armchair ride alongside the type of players Silva plays with. He’d flourish at City.
It’s one of the reasons why I’d like us to sign one or two really technical and creative players to play alongside him.

City’s play is so sharp and incisive. We have our moments obviously but there’s too many times where Dele or Son can’t trap a bag of cement. Lamela had a similar problem too, he gave up possession quite easily at times.

Sane is an absolute star of a player by the way. For me, he’s well on his way to world class status. He’d improve us hugely

It's a shame we don't have a limitless pot of cash, if we did, we also could buy loads of top quality attacking players.

Agree about Sane, think he is mustard but they are shopping in a different store to us.

City struggled to beat Huddersfield today.

Irrelevant really, though, as we almost lost a game against West Bromwich Albion.

City XI | Ederson, Walker, Otamendi, Kompany (c), Delph, Fernandinho, De Bruyne, Silva, Sterling, Sane, Aguero

Funny when you actually look Player for player. For me the only player that 100% walks into our team imo is de Bruyne instead of winks/dembele and I guess walker .Ederson otamendi kompany Delph don’t get in. The rest are all debatable.

Feranandinho over winks/Dier/wanyama not sure
Silva over eriksen not sure eriksen more goal threat imo.
Sterling over dele I’d prob take dele.
Sane over Son. Not sure Son is more of a goal threat.
Kane all day over aguero for me.
Our defence is markedly stronger imo. On paper there really isn’t a massive amount in it.Unless the likes of dele eriksen are vastly overrated?
Sorry don’t see that at all. Which why City are already 8 points clear at the top and after yesterday’s dismal performance we have been overtaken by ARSEnal and are out of the top four.

I love Son but I think Sane is quickly becoming one of the best platers in the league. Also the options they have compared to us is the difference. They can rotate between Aguero and Jesus at will whereas we rely on Kane. Also we seem to rely solely on Eriksen and to a lesser degree Dele for creativity whereas they have KDB, Silva x 2 and then Gundogan from CM who are all "creative" players.

I do agree though that on paper the first 11's (when all fully fit) are pretty even.[/QU
I disagree they have much more movement and are able to break down Park the buss teams. Sane, Auguero, Silver, Jesus, sterling are all quick tricky players you can slide balls into and will get around a tough defense.

because at the end of the day the players have failed to do it. it's not Poch's fault the passes or shots don't come off.

no matter what player plays in any game, if the ball does fall in the right place, a player can't pass it to the player they want, or hit the cross they want, or guarantee that the keeper will make a save. it doesn't matter how quick you pass it, if 1 of the 10 defenders are in the way.

what's gone wrong this season, compared to last season is failing to get the 1st goal very early, get that then the parkers have to come out
Watch the city Huddersfield game from yesterday. Huddersfield scored first and parked the bus, and defending was great. But city moved the ball so quickly you just knew they would break them down, 80% possession and at one point they had 257 passes and Huddersfield had 16! We don’t have the players who move and pass as quick as them, at least not consistently.

It’s honestly very fine margins. Just from memory city have lucked 4 pts late on with with very lucky goals. Today and Bournemouth. We’ve been unlucky v Burnley late goal and say Kane’s effort goes on v Swansea instead of bar that’s an 8 point swing and we’d be right in it. Virtually all the points we’ve lost this season we’ve more or less thrown away. Arsenal was probably only game we were fairly beaten apart from 2 offsides. Maintain with a bit more luck we could be a lot closer.:(
the points we've dropped have all been because we were poor, nothing to do with luck whatsoever. there's nothing "fine" about these margins at all.

Yes I agree but it's amazing the excuses some people find to deflect attention away from the fact we have been quite poor.
Apart from the two CL games and the Liverpool one personally I have been largely unimpressed and bored with watching us this season, we are slow and predictable and easy to defend against borne out by the fact that everyone is doing it to us and we have no answer.
When you look at the quick incisive football city are playing I can't see how people think there isn't a lot I'm it, they are better than us by a a bit of a distance right now.

I think its fair to say if all the City players walked into our side we would be doing better, we'd be top of the league!
The poster who said City pass much quicker than us is right but they also more quicker too, if there is not enough movement ahead of or around you then you need to look for someone to pass to who hasn't got a defender on their back, that takes time and that slows it all down.
Pass and move or push and run kind of thing.
Not saying we don't do that but we aren't aren't doing it very well at the moment as well as we can, maybe we're on a bit of a lull in the league.

If we at some point find ourself trailing 4th by to much i really hope we end up 7th or so to miss the EL.

With our very strong first 11, no Europe and the new stadium boost we should be able to mount a real challenge next year.

Having said that i really do hope we sneak 4th obviously. Just not the end of the world

And we thought these teams after NLD will give us some redemption until we faced Citeh. But only 1 point from 6. Damn...

Really a long season ahead.. WC year will probably make the pain to start the next season in eagerness even more frustrating and sick. Feels like vomiting already now.
