Looking forward to seeing some set pieces from him - we haven’t put a decent corner or free kick in since he got crocked.

Lets just remember: He's not the Messiah.

He's just a very snorty boy! (according to some posters!)

Lets cut the lad some slack, hope he gets a run out, and shows a bit. He needs confidence. Not hounding.
I'm really glad to see him back.

Rated this optimistic, because we know that won't happen. He'll be slated by some as the same old Lamela and others will hail him as a genius for playing a successful pass or controlling the ball nicely.

Realistically I think the most we can hope for is some minutes over the next half a dozen games with no reaction to his previous injury.

Neither can Poch

“I think for the team it is important,” he said. “To have another option to play, to have the capacity to play in a different way, for the team it is very healthy. I think we miss his energy – his energy is massive. You can feel when he is on the pitch he is always available to run, to press. And when he has the ball he has the capacity to beat opponents. I think we miss him because he is a completely different option.”
Kinda confirms why we ditched the high intensity press. Perhaps it's not the only reason but I reckon we'd have seen it a lot more with him.

That sort of enthusiasm is infectious as well, can inspire those around him to close with more purpose and vigour.

Think it might take him the rest of the season, but I'm just sure Coco is ready now to fulfil his potential and explode as a goal scorer. Having a child will refocus and settle his nerves, his time is now.

Love you Lamela

“I think we miss his energy. You can feel when he’s on the pitch he is always available to run, to press – and then with the ball he has the capacity to beat opponents.

“He was one of the players that was keen to do what we expected from the team [in terms of pressing when we arrived] because he has a massive energy. He’s a very energetic person.

“When you see him in the dressing room or restaurant he’s always moving. He’s hyperactive and that’s how he is on the pitch. He loves to run, loves to feel the ball at his feet. He always wants the ball: ‘give me the ball.’

I think he’ll offer more centrally than he does out wide personally, where to do people think he fits into the 3511 we’re currently playing? The 1 behind the striker or one of the moe advanced midfield roles? Or would the best fit for him be in the 2 in the 3421 we’ve previously played?

I like most of this but when was the last time we had someone who had a natural ability to beat players? Certainly isn't Lamela. Probably Bale.

Lamela was the player I most enjoyed watching even though in general he has not produced what I thought he would. Still just something about his all round attitude, energy and willingness to try the difficult things when so many of our layers in the past just did the easy thing. Hope he settles back well

Feel absolutely gutted for Lamela...to miss so much time and to be unable to have a say in our title run last season and the beginning of this...Can't help but think that if he was available for the majority of the past year, things would have been different.

To me, tonight it looked even more obvious that Lamela has always been up there at the core of our soul and passion. The way the team gained an impetus and came alive, when he came on for Eriksen was quite telling of this. Sadly there was just not enough time left in the match.

We have been needing a spark in attack. Hope he can provide it... now if we only get our defensive midfielder back.....

Reminds me of the game against arse a few seasons ago, we were in the lead and after taking Lamela off we seemed to lose all of our energy and lost our lead
