Lloris - 5 - nothing to do

Sanchez/Verts - both played a part in either goal. Sanchez loses Vardy, Verts shows Mahrez onto his one foot. 6

Dier - 4 - really dross when he moved to CM. For a big lad, he loses a lot of 50/50s in dangerous areas. Ponderous passing.

Aurier - 4 - poor mans Trippier

Rose - 4 - poor mans Davies

Dembele - 5 - it’s almost sad watching him out there when teams are coming at us. Has lost half a yard and games are bypassing him.

Sissoko - 4 - average performance. Misplaced passes, overhit passes, underhit passes, lazy tracking, missed sitter. Please tell me his days are numbered.

Eriksen - 4 - very poor. Missed a sitter. Couldn’t control the ball. Needs a rest.

Alli - 3 - thought he was atrocious in possession. Genuinely lost count of the amount of times he lost the ball or made the wrong decisions. If he was French, commentators would slaughter him.

Kane - 6 - incredibly selfish today but who can blame him? Would you pass to Alli, Sissoko or Eriksen when you know they’ll bumble the fuck out of it. He’s off his game but still scores. Class act.

Lamela - 8 - added a much needed bit of vim and vigour to us, simply by showing for the ball and playing a few give and go’s. Tempo can be injected simply by a few crisp passes. The weight of his passing was on point, which is so often forgotten in football.

Son - 7 - lively. Has to start all games.

Llorente - 3 - like all of the worst parts of Soldado, Janssen and Adebayor, rolled in to one geriatric Spanish pancake

Need to start games quicker
Need to start games with a bit more smash mouth intensity
Need Wanyama back
Need Alli and Eriksen to be rested
Need Winks fit
Need to never play Dier CM ever again
Need to play Davies and Trippier more than Aurier/Rose
Need to send Sissoko to Coventry

Adebayor was head and shoulders above those mentioned

He also costs us goals by not playing simple passes. Tough to nail him for something as he's so good for us; but it's just true.

He should have more assists.

Classic example was first half where Kane gets the ball on the left hand side of the area and after a couple of swerves tries to bend the ball round 2 defenders and the keeper into the top corner. If it comes off it's a wonder goal, but the fact is, Alli was completely unmarked in the 6 yd area for a tap in.

Yep just watched the highlights and can’t believe we lost that with the chances we had...

I watched it on a stream, and even though we had enough chances, Leicester defended like their lives depended on it, plus they pay a keeper to make saves, and he made 2 or 3 crucial ones.

I fucking hate Leicester but they need to be given some credit for the way they played last night, might of been a different story. even if Eriksen had put his chance away, it doesn't mean the game would of finished any different as the rest of the game would of been different. we might of gone on and scored other chances or they might of got another, no one knows because if he had scored, the next part of play would of been a KO instead of a goal kick.

I've only just seen Eriksen's missed chance again, fucking hell. How the hell did he miss that so badly? He's so good but that was genuinely fat Dave from Sunday League esque.

Llorente is unfortunately proving to be a total donkey, not suited to our play really, which is a shame as I've always wanted him at Spurs. Might as well take him out back and send him the way of Old Yeller.

I'm still adamant that this is pretty much all Sissoko's fault. Not only is he literally useless, he affects the shape of the team too much and the knock-on effect of that is there's not the space for Alli, Eriksen, etc.

I don't really get your love on Lesniak o_O Maybe TOB, Onomah or Skipp would be a better example

Seriously MA, the point I’m making is that sometimes a team just needs a functionary, someone to do the nasty, simple stuff, Provide the glue that holds all the fancy fuckers and allow them to play. Sometimes a team needs some structure.

I used Lesniak half joking but only half, because I think we are crying out for that type of player right now. A dynamic busy ****, a grafter, someone to win the ball and protect the defence and allow two 8’s to play off him.

Dembele’s like a turtle in a windsock, Sissoko like a baby giraffe, Dier’s like baby elephant.

We are missing what Wanyama brings, which is why I put KWP there in my team for - everyone ironically “funny’d” it, but in a CM3 system I think he could do that simple job, be energetic, be tenacious, be discipline, carry the water, compete.

I don’t want Dier doing his bad Pirlo impression, or Dembele whirling like a drunken dervish.

Would be surprised if Lamela is able to start the next game. Tempting as it is to play him since others have been poor, would hate to play him too much, too soon. The 6-1 away victory at the end of last year seems a long time ago!

Think Aurier has been a massive let down so far. Another terrible game.

As said, Dier's passing was horrendous.

Sissoko...Offers nothing

Kane well off it again. Good goal though

Alli seemed more interested today but my god he looses the ball easily.

You mean our Harry Kane, the Harry Kane who has had a better 2017 so far than Messi or Ronaldo that Harry Kane?. The Harry Kane two Golden Boot awards?.

If he is "well off it again" then you absolutely must reduce the dosage of medication that you are on.

It's too bad to see Dembele a step slower because we could always rely on him to carry the ball up from the back. And the less said about Dier as a midfielder the better.

Hopefully the ITK's are correct and we have Barkley on the way in the January transfer window. He could be the new deep lying midfielder pushing forward.

I think a Barkley - Wanyama deep lying midfield 2 in 2018 could be the breath of fresh air we need with Dembele fit and ready for big games on a reduced workload.

Lamela MOM. Kane ok. The rest were meh at best.
If we’re relying on Barkley in January, we’re in trouble. Barely played much at all in preseason then he got injured in training. He’s apparently still a few weeks away from training. Cant expect too much from him when he hasnt played football much at all since the spring and he’d be coming into a new club. Plus, Big Sam will probably want to keep him to help save Everton from relegation.

Its not good to see Poch so crestfallen in his interviews . He's been sourer than usual for the last few 'Pressers' .Uncharacteristically he's been misdescribing matches , saying we didn't get what we deserved vs Arse and WBA which is bollox imo
Well he can safely say in this match we didn't get what we deserved . The misses from Sissoko,Eriksen and Llorente
were amazing to behold .
For me the 2nd half was the best half we've had in the Prem since before the Palace match where this malaise really got going.
Full on pressing, Leicester pinned back, several point blank chances missed .

The Toby quote I never tire of repeating 'If we don't have our effort , we are an ordinary team ' Is applying these days and Poch
is clearly confused as to why his players aren't automatically putting in the usual workrate . As someone said above , we become a mid table team without it .

So , what has happened to Poch's motivational skills ? . Stuff been going on behind the scenes ? book ? Danny probs ? Eriksen WC and Barca ? Dele a tv star ? or plain wages gripes ? Who knows ?

Also yes ,he has been sticking with out of form players ,team selection seems counterproductive sometimes . Need to try new options , new blood etc .

I expect us to weather this storm and put in a challenge for top 4 , but there is no denying a dream has died for us in Nov .
He's not resting players smartly. Insists on playing bang-out--of-form players over and over.

Yea, that Harry Kane. Compared to his normal world class standard he's having a dip at the moment. Maybe he's not fully fit/recovered. imo it's quite noticeable he's not at his best

I can see how with tired/out of form players we would lack the energy and intensity and commit errors on the ball, but what puzzles me is that we are lacking organisation and structure in most of what we do - I cant see why this would be the case all of a sudden. The pressing trap(s), how compact we are as a team, our defensive line aren't working as a unit, our position play and attacking patterns when we have the ball... All of these facets are leaving a lot to be desired currently. It's like they've all forgotten it.

Big fan of Dier defensively, but hate it when he thinks he can pass the ball about, his passing ability is that at the level he think it is

A lot of truth there but I think missing Wanyama and Toby is really causing us problems at the moment. They are both organizers and leaders.

Couldn’t agree more. There were stages, in the second half in particular, where we were attempting to press, but it had no coherence and Leicester just passed through it quite comfortably.

I’ve observed before that, after an international break, we appear to come back as total strangers for the next game. This time round it has extended to 3 games.

I have to say that I agree with Rob here as well. As much as I love his willingness and desire to make a difference, Sissoko is creating an imbalance in the team. He’s not bringing what is needed at the moment and it’s costing us.

I hate to say it, because I genuinely love the fact that his endeavour has seen him improve markedly from last season, but it’s not nearly enough to make up for the lack of quality in what is a key role.

I think there are a multitude of problems, but a simple one has been a general lack of rotation of key creative players. Ignoring the fact that Alli's all round game has been pretty poor most of the season, he's also a 21yo kid. Eriksen seems to have played every single league and CL game too, and Kane is pretty much the same, and often left on the pitch when games are well won.

I don't think our defence has suffered much at all from the loss of Alderweireld, Dier is a very adequate CB, a decent communicator and Alderweireld hasn't been at his very best anyway.

But the midfield is a major problem that Poch seemed to take his eye off, and while he did it went stale. We have no stability, solidity or continuity there. Roles are il-defined, we've had Winks playing as the central hub, when the positioning and defensive side of his game is weakest, we've had Sissoko, Alli and Eriksen all parachuted back there with mixed results, two of them are fucking clumsy, none of them are much good under a stern press.

And this means we also aren't as effective without the ball either. Alli doesn't press well, Sissoko just charges into people, Dembele's zimmer needs oiling. Dier can't press because he's too cumbersome and gets turned too easily. Eriksen's decent at pressing but not exactly the bravest.

I don't think we've played the same midfield structure or personnel two games running all season, we've rarely played it for the same game. Last two games we've switched from 3331 to 4231 to 226.

I remember quite a few on here giving me shit for being annoyed that he ignored Winks for a massive chunk of last season, and also refused to get Onomah into games when we were 3/4 up with 30 minutes to play, and then also failed to play him in midfield in every single post and pre season friendly. And Lesniak was jettisoned despite showing briefly that he's a very capable little busy ****.

I know Onomah has learning to do, but FFS, he is definitely a better midfielder than Sissoko. And I don't blame Sissoko, I blame Pochettino. He's wasted/spurned the opportunity to develop assets, or at least utilise them for squad purposes and now he's hoisted somewhat on his own, Sissoko sized petard.

We got away with it against RM and Liverpool because the midfield didn't really have to play, just sit and spring occasionally. But we are being asked different questions now and it's getting exposed. The midfield is the engine that drives the machine, and ours is a bit Heath Robinson right now.
