Holy hell...just checked on Shaw's age...he's 22! I assumed 25/6. Rose is 27.

I think this is an appealing deal, assuming Levy can squeeze every penny of value out of United.

All depends on whether Poch wants Shaw. If so fine, otherwise tell them to stump up the cash in full or bugger off.

It’s The Star newspaper more like toilet paper. I think Rose will go to Man U and Shaw to us as Poch managed him at Southampton. Probably part exchange with us paying £5 mill.......well I can guess!

Martial or know deal !
Its all lies anyway, do you really think Levy would do any business with
Man UTD mid season, it will be 60million anyway and fuck Shaw.

Before Rose's injury, he was a much better player than Walker, who went for £50m. Martial plus £20m.

Would only consider any sort of deal if we get Sessegnon first. Not interested in Shaw.

If Poch thinks he can get Shaw back to his Southampton form, and we could eek a bit more cash out of Utd, preferably enough to buy Barkley & Sessegnon this January, then very much yes.
That would leave us with only three areas to address next summer, two of which could potentially be addressed inhouse.
CB - because the loss of Toby has prompted a change of system, lack of faith in CB's? Can Carter-Vickers, Foyth and Tanganga be the answer.
CM - Dembele seems increasingly unlikely to string too many back to back games together. Between Winks, and maybe Onomah if he delivers for Villa, plus Skipp/Oakley-Booth are we covered.
CF - Llorente hasn't had huge opportunities, but has generally not looked at ease in our system, we don't look to have a cutting edge. Powerful in the air, but we tend to play to feet rather than put crosses in. I do see how getting someone happy to play backup to Kane could be tricky.

I'd be very happy to utilise the returning loan players plus academy graduates to fill the first two vacancies, and shift all summer transfer focus to securing a suitable Kane understudy, competent enough to fill in seamlessly, but humble enough not to rock the boat. Big task, but if that's our only focus then should be achievable.

January 18 - Rose out, Shaw, Barkley & Sessegnon in.
Summer 18 - Sissoko & Nkoudou (plus probably Llorente & Janssen) out, one class striker in.
Integrate Tanganga, Eyoma, Brown, Skipp, Oakley-Booth, Edwards & Shashoua.
Shut up shop early, get the settled squad used to the new stadium.

Wishful thinking maybe.

On that note I'm off to fire up the laptop to play some football manager....

£40m? Message to Jose "No Get F###ed"
Rose way better than Walker. At the "right" price there may be a deal to be done, but we would have to have secured Sessegnon FIRST.

Selling top players only works if we are selling for silly money and getting top replacements.

Never mind the players or money - why would we be of any mind to strengthen a close competitor? City was bad enough
