If we as fans wanted Poch to rest the first team then the last 3 results are worst thing that could've happened. He'll see it as opportunity to get back to winning ways and won't want another draw or even loss. It'll be the first team except maybe Kane now.

He's already said he will use this game as one to rest a few of the players who have played a lot of football. Hope he maintains that stance. A week without intensive football for 90 minutes will do Eriksen, Dier, Kane, Dele, and few others the world of good.

True, but we've been shit since he's been out.

We were pants in loads of games when he was fit though. Don't get me wrong I miss him but think we miss Wanyama more.
Personally I don't think it's down to individual injuries or form though. Collectively as a team in comparison to last two years we are simply playing extremely poorly in multiple different ways.

Still think our issues are coming from CM. Dier/dembele doesn’t work now Dembele legs have gone. He literally offers nothing no creativity nothing. He can’t even run with the ball now. It has to be winks and another . Or eriksen winks Lamela in a 3.
Central midfield has been a much more pressing area for concern than at the back.

The FA cup is not as important at top four.
No but we need to show a bit more ambition than just top 4 every season. Commercially, I agree but football is supposed to be about winning trophies.

alli and eriksen must be dropped. it sends a bad message to the fringe players if they keep getting picked in spite of performances

I still don’t think the squad is good enough. Yes the depth looks marginally better than last season, but there’s not that much in it. There certainly isn’t much genuine competition for places.

Many fans weren’t particularly impressed by the transfer window. It wasn’t a disaster, but it wasn’t pushing on which is what you need to do to make the difference or even just stay where you are. If you stand still in football you effectively go backwards and unfortunately this is how it’s starting to play out.
It was another 'almost' transfer window. A few good moves, an eye on the future, a regrettable sale and a lack of a player we really needed in a certain position.

If we are struggling in January the silver lining may be that Poch and Levy are forced to react and pay up for that player we are really missing. Unfortunately I feel some of our players may be wanting out, which leads us back to the same situation of having to replace key positions.

I feel that this summer especially the club should have gone out and got that difference maker, they were clearly looking at it - ITK and links - so they knew it was a position that needed improving. It's my one huge problem with Levy as I believe it's what is holding this club to be even better.

I was quoting @St José Dominguez who said it would be a disaster if we didn't move into the new stadium with CL football. I don't think we will qualify for the CL next season, hence the "Prepare yourself for disaster" reply. Struggling to see the drama in my post.

No worries, couldn' tell that you were replying to someone. Presumably they'e on my blocked list for being a drama queen, haha. Apologies.

The most concerning thing for me is Eriksen's form. He's was so integral last year in being the player who was calm in possession and set the tempo for the team going forward. This year he doesn't look sharp at all.

Wishful thinking I guess but I hope Poch kicks off about the ref. He's very respectful but we've been on the wrong end of some woeful officiating recently.

Maybe it's my spurs tinted specs but I don't think that's a red. He's tried to block him off, but has accidentally ended up elbowing him. Foul, yes. Yellow, yes. Act of deliberate aggression? No

I know this xG thing gets on people's tits but I think if we had been more clinical in games then we wouldn't be in as bad a situation as we are. Plus our defending as been a bit rubbish obviously.

Saw this on Twitter:
Spurs have given up 4 goals from 1.7 xG and scored 3 from 5 xG over the last 3 matches. That'll earn you a crisis conch but the play has been better than the garbage results

No, it doesn't. However, we have seen signs of problems in the squad and this book doesn't help. I sincerely hope that this is not the beginning of the slippery slope but sadly it could be. We have all seen Spurs managers lose the plot and eventually lose their job.
Oh yeah totally but I hope those depressing days of a regular turnover of managers has gone as it reminds me of the days that we were a bang average club going nowhere. The book was perhaps a mistake but it would be a pity if something relatively minor was the catalyst of the club falling back into bad habits and mid table finishes.

I think it might be the specs, short of choke-slamming the ref that's the most obvious red you'll see, he stepped across him with his arm up and elbowed him in the face.

That's the sort of thing that comes out when a team is doing poorly.
