Team v Stoke

Add me to the chorus of people that think Alli needs to sit. He’s been mostly atrocious this season and quite frankly he doesn’t deserve to start. If he wants to get back in the starting 11 he needs to show something and re-earn it. Depending on health Lamela just offers more than him right now.

I’d like us to continue in the press & run swashbuckling 4-2-3-1 that got us here to begin with. We looked so much better and more fluid playing it today. We can easily switch back to a 3-4-2-1 for selected opponents like Chelsea.

Tripper Dier Vertongen Rose
Dembele Winks

Stoke at home next?

Great stuff.

I know, that's what I've been thinking. I just hope yesterday's second half performance gives the players a boost. I only watched that 45 minutes but we did enough to win the game and had the referee officiated properly, we probably would have.

Hopefully a week of rest for the players will pay off in our favour. But stoke though, yeah annoying. They'll be so much time wasting.

In our advantage with the stoke and Brighton games. Is both have winnable games 3 days later and may almost forfeit our game to rest for game they see more winnable. Stoke have Burnley on the Tuesday and May view that as more winnable.

No we are crying out for Wanyama and Toby. Put them back in the team and we are an e timely different proposition.
What we need is those two back AND 2 in to give Alli, Eriksen and Kane competition. Until then Poch we keep playing them, and bringing Lamela off the bench.

A must win to get back on track.

Hopefully a few key players get a good rest midweek (Kane, Eriksen)

Should be able to score a few. Stoke are among the teams with most goals again so far

He definitely looked well off the pace thats for sure. I cant see him starting any games for a while unfortunately. Hopefully he can do something off the bench for 10 minutes here and there though.

If it were me, I'd start Lamela v. Apoel, and thus leave him for the bench against Stoke - and maybe come back to start against Brighton.

Son has to be first name on the team sheet. He's the only one causing problems up front and not looking like he's playing in treacle.

I'd also consider playing Llorente as the focal striker with his back to goal and allow Kane to have someone to play without being that pivot himself.

In this case, a 4-3-3 style might work. I'd have to put Sissoko in there, though his touch is so awful it pains me to do so. But if he can be effective at breaking up play and has access to simple lay offs to Trippier, Winks, and Kane then he could be a valuable harasser of Stoke's danger men.

Winks is key to moving the ball around at a higher tempo than we've been doing. And Kane, Son & the full-backs can get the ball into the box to make use of Llorente in there.

-------------Lloris-------------
Trippier Dier Verts Rose
-----Sissoko Dembele----
-------------Winks------------
---Kane Llorente Son--

Eriksen needs a rest & a kick up the back side. So does Dele.
Really want to experiment with Foyth against APOEL & Stoke.

My XI :

Lloris
Foyth, Dier, Vertonghen,
Aurier, Sissoko, Winks, Davies
Lamela
Kane, Son

By the way Verts is now on 4 yellow cards...... We have to play him but I can't see him getting to the end of the year without another card
