Good that Sterling got on the pitch but 3 mins tho?? Damn

Anyway at least it's some incentive for him.

Thought KWP done well when he came on but sometimes is almost too attacking when playing in a back 4. Think he'd be more suited to wingback or would need to be more careful when he chooses to go forward.

KWP only on for 20 mins. But looks so calm and assured. Would have him over Aurier in a heartbeat. Literally hold my breath anytime Aurier is near the ball.

KWP did what exactly? You lot are so desperate for a youth product to displace senior players, you ham up every single aspect of their performances, even if it's just performing the bare minimum you'd expect from a professional footballer like completing a 5 yard pass. Aurier got an assist and put in a fair few good crosses, no idea why you have to use KWP's cameo as a stick to beat Aurier with.

Telling it as I see it. Must have seen KWP play 20-30 games with youth, England ,tours, and brief senior cameos and never seen him put a foot wrong. Looks totally calm and assured in every way. Aurier is basically the complete opposite. The comparison is far as they are both RB. Possibly Aurier may offer you more attacking intent. But ultimately he will cost you with a sloppy pass or rash tackle. Were again 4 or 5 examples last night. The yellow that could easily have been red,Absolute madness sliding tackle when the opponent was by his own corner flag. And the customary 2 or 3 sloppy passes.

Thought Aurier was decent last night. Long term I think it will be Aurier and KWP as Trips just doesn't fit the model of a Poche fullback/wing back. KWP did fine in his cameo, shame really that he won't get more minutes. But people moan enough as it is having replaced Walker with Aurier, imagine the outrage if we'd just stuck with Trips and promoted KWP?

Personally I’d be proud of the bravery of the club and find it the embodiment of what people say when they say we can’t compete with the rich clubs In an arms race and have to do it a different way. Making the most of our resources where we have quality to promote players

TBH we are on a dedicated Spurs forum reading and actively taking part in a Spurs Youth thread that can get "wordy", that we would favor a young prospect over a seasoned but potentially sketchy signing is hardly shocking.

Whether I personally like him or not I think Aurier's style of play will grow into a Poch ideal. Aurier plays a risky, high intensity, full back style that suits a work rate pressing system but is very hard to do when you miss most of a season for being an a** (to put it nicely) and now have to regain form and learn a new system at the same time. Of course you can say why take that chance, etc etc but that was the club's call and I don't see the benefit of continuing to second guess it.

Personally I think a rotation of Aurier and KWP will be far better for the club long term than Trippier, though I love Trips when he cannot do the one thing he is best at he's basically just a wooden post to bounce the ball off.

Also remember Walker barely played at all his first year under Poche he was injured so much and Dier was our primary RB. So Poch will take time and come next year if Aurier isn't up to snuff and KWP is then you'll see him off. Poch doesn't mess around with players who don't fit his ethos.

I’m not knocking aurier, I think his performances have been mixed and it’s early in his career here,I’m responding to someone suggesting they’d be outrage if we hadn’t signed him. It’s not a 1 size fits all approach, I think rose will need replacing by a signing if he leaves at the end of the season/January as our current young lb’s seem a way off kwp’s level currently

They had to sign a RB after Walker left Just to save face really. There’s already so much lack of ambition wages stuff. Not replacing walker with decent money buy would have been a massive stick to beat Levy with. Still maintain KWP will ultimately be better than trips and Aurier,Just hope it’s in a spurs shirt.

Congrats to Kane coming 10th on Ballon D'Or list. At the start of the 14/15 season he was at risk of being loaned out and had to settle for being the 3rd choice striker, imagine how few chances a 3rd choice striker should get in a one up top system. We were so fortunate we had the Europa League and that our others flopped so badly, so he could come through and show the ability a few saw in him. Imagine if Soldado or Ade had scored some goals he would probably be at another club trying to build a career, with people saying it's not like we missed out on anything he's only playing for Wolves or something. Grateful so much fell into place and he showed everyone what he could do.
Done the club and the academy proud. Let's hope can keep progressing

Many more like him just waiting for the chance or luck to fall into place so that get the opportunity to showcase themselves too, and I wouldn't be surprised to see some more on the list in the future. Even in that season he came through there was no pathway for him and we still haven't learned our lesson.

For old time sakes I remember this game from the 12/13 season, where he scored that great goal from a sweet strike. Funnily enough watching this I always thought he showed class and and to think he was written off by so many. He was 20 in this clip still trying to get his chances.

Very few kids get chances without first teamers dropping form, being injured or the like.

Will be interesting to see what team the u18s put out against Chelsea tomorrow.

They could put out a strong team if they wanted to and with a few good performance last week it gives them better depth to the squad.

sat - u18s vs chelsea
mon - u23s vs west ham
tue - u18s vs preston (youth cup)

a busy few days ahead.

4th round of the fayc was made today, if we beat preston then we'll be away to either bournemouth or hull.

Wonder how they play that.would think U18 youth cup will take precedence over U23.Id play fringe in the U23 like KWP foyth Nkoudou we need a win as well near the bottom.
