Do shakhtar have a mid-season break now, might not be up to full speed in February if we draw them?
That's true, but I'd still rather the team didn't have to go to a frickin' war zone.

(I know they're not playing home games in Donetsk any more. Kharkiv is close enough though)

1 in 3 chance of drawing a bigger club than us: Bayern or Juve

1 in 3 chance of drawing a smaller club than us: Shaktar or Basel

1 in 3 chance of drawing a (roughly) equivalent club to us: Sevilla or Porto

Basel is the dream I guess. Weakest team and nice place to visit I’m guessing.

We seem to do better against bigger clubs, Basel have knocked us out of Europe before and were good enough to beat a strong united side.

We don't get up for games against the smaller clubs. I think our best chance of going through will be against Sevilla. They will attack us and will not see us as a threat to them. Although we see ourselves as an equivalent club, they have won the Europa league in 3 out of the last 4 years if I remeber correctly I don't think they will fear us, which should help us win.

I didn't realise Chelsea could only get one of Besiktas, PSG or Barca. Besiktas it is then

I really, really REALLY hope United or Liverpool get Real Madrid. I'm not fussed who we get, it'll probably be two wonderful games.

Nice. Fancy us to draw Shaktar and to get meekly elimated in a 1-0 aggregate defeat.

COYS
Shaktar I think go on a winter break and pretty much start back with Champions League so I would not expect them to be really match fit. Probably the best time to play them if you have to

Hope we get Sevilla or Basel. We owe both of them after knocking us out of the europa in the recent past, not that I’m one to hold a grudge :cautious:

Trust me any team will fear us. We’ve just topped the group with the most pts. The Real Madrid result will have reverberated around Europe. My spainish cleaner who has a football knowledge on a par with balague:eek: says we are viewed very much like Dortmund a young dynamic exciting upcoming team.

Completely nullified by Lester and WBA so I doubt anyone is shaking in their boots anymore.
