Yes Son loses the ball but he's as productive as Alli and if he isn't then he at least offers pace to stretch and run at a defence. Considering Alli's lack of pace he needs to make up for it with good close control and working hard off the ball. More often than not he doesn't do those basics.

Well thats partly true. Going back to basics in certain situations will help but encouraging him not to try something unpredictable isn't going to help us when we are playing against two banks of four. It's normally the creative that win a game in that scenario.
