Tbf, there were a few people saying I don’t think he’ll play for spurs again but they didn’t mean I hope he never plays for spurs again. There’s only a very small number of posters that didn’t want to see him return.

I have always felt Lamela's key asset was in the 'flow of a move'. There have been many occasions (usually when he has no time to think) where his link up play just makes the difference. Position and weight of ball. Saw on of those when he came on at Leicester.

Impressive cameo from Erik, great to have him back. What i noticed on Tuesday was how quickly he moves the ball and how firmly he passes it. His passes to Kane for the goal and Aurier for the Llorente miss (i think) were pretty simple but it was noticeable how quickly he moved the ball. Could be a real asset to us again, hope he's fit to start tomorrow.

At last a sensible post rather than a childish, mob mentality one.

Good to see him back. I’ve expressed plenty of doubts about him throughout his time with us, but one thing I’ve been sure of from the start is that he’s not a wide player. Not in the PL anyway. All his best work has always been from inside and his passing in and around the box is probably the best in the squad.

He also gets in fantastic open tap in positions as well but normally kane shoots or scores instead.

I really like the lad and I am really glad to see him back his work rate and mentality are also infectious and often spreads through the side.

Some of you are overreacting imo. He played against tired legs. He's not ready to start yet
He needs at least another game like the last one where he plays the last 20/25 minutes.

The issue I had with these assertions was that they were based on nothing more than ignorance. There didn't seem to be any understanding or even empathy for how long it takes to recover psychologically and physically from major injury. People would rather make up conspiracy theories about why Erik wasn't playing or use it as an opportunity to vent their own dissatisfaction about the player.

Still doubt that he'll ever play for us again.

This hologram lookalike is doing a decent job in his cameos, though.

Don't you think, Francis?

Francis?

FRANCIS!? :peeking:

No question for me he is our most complete all round player creativity work rate goal threat outshines eriksen and dele for me. Very surprised he looks so sharp after so long out.we have some squad when all fit.

I just wish Lamela, once receiving the ball in-between the lines centrally (which he is fantastic at), would be more aggressive and drive at the defenders. Instead he always does this kind of shuffle with his head and shoulders and gets closed down very quickly. It's the one thing lacking from his game. Work rate - check, weighted passes - check, movement off the ball - check, vision - check, driving runs between defenders - hmmmm.

Really glad to have him back though, like a new signing after being out so long.

great to have him back, and I'm surprised at how fresh he seems. He doesn't really seem to have the rustiness that Rose has. Great for him to get a start last night, and get the best part of 75 minutes under his belt. Such an asset to have him back and fit.

Welcome back Coco
